Thread: resource merge

at the end of a day/week of serching for and collecting good quality resource i am left with a bunch of odd quantities of resourses. you know what i am talking about, the 12 units of wild meat, and the 5 units of carn meat, and so one. It would be nice if we could combine these into one resource, call it "generic" meat and have the qualties average out. the quality would probably be poor, but you could sell it for grinding material.


normally i will destroy real low quanities, but i tend to save stuff with 8 or more units to make tents and traps and stuff. but it does not seam very scout/ranger like to be wasting resources.

GOOD IDEA not only would it help us but the new artisans starting out would find a larger quantity of cheap hides to grind, i know i've destroyed alot of low quality/quantity hides from testing for quality.

I've been reading some of the suggestions for a stationary trap, something that could possibly be used to lure creatures out of a mob, and isolate them. If this is something that is really a possibility I'd recommend giving it an organic requirement that would sop up these extra harvests.


If these traps were set up like this it would make more sense to require low quality meat (meat that would be used to give off a strong scent to attract carnivores)thus opening up a market for those harvests that don't always prove so great. Similarly, there could be two variations, one that required a kind of meat bait, and one that required a more general organic bait, like some of the things we forage. One would be more effective against carnivores, the other against herbivores.

if it was to become a database problem with all these different quailty meat/hide/bone being created i would even settle for the stats being removed and it becoming "grinding resourse" that could only be used in the practice window of crafting.


atleast this way we and not waisting the material and crafters wont have to use there good material to do some practice grinding.
