Jes,

You're not going to get an XP spam. It's just going to show up on your bar.

Look at your bar. Remember the number.

Craft a camp. Look at it again.

It should be showing up.

I just finished the survival tree today. It took me about 3 hours. For the most part, i sat in my camp and macro-crafted camp kits for all the xp i needed. I disbanded and set up a new camp about every 10 or 15minutes. This would yield anywhere from 300-600xp per camp. Also, when macro crafting in practice mode, basic camp kits gave me 12xp per camp and multi-person camp kits gave me around 58 xp per camp. Trust me, once you get to survival 2, it goes a LOT faster with the multi-person camp kits. So don't worry, the camp kits do give xp.

Oh, and if you're gonna macro-craft camp kits, you'll need ludicrous amounts of hide and bone. I bought a crapload off the bazaar for inflated prices but i had the cash to spend so i was ok. Sometimes u can find a good deal on hide/bone on the bazaar though. Hope this helps.

If you decide to "grind" some Wilderness Survival XP on your own (grouping is definitely faster, and with friends, more fun), and are sampling, dancing or playing music in one spot to use up Action points, as JediBohemian said, you can craft Camp kits for a bit of XP. In addition to the many Hide and Bone you'll want on hand, you can semi-macro the creation of Kits to reduce carpal tunnel from moving stuff around.

I haven't used this yet, but will be experimenting with it later. I just like experimenting with macros, but also have the opportunity to play some days a week for 45 minutes at lunch, which is not at all conducive to joining pickup groups or really doing much hunting. Plus the computer is really old anyway.

  • /ui action toolbarslot12; (this opens a Crafting Kit in that slot)

  • /selectDraftSchematic 0; (you need to find "0" yourself. This is based on the location of the camp in your Datapad. This is a trial an error period)

  • /pause 15; (gives you time to double-click or drag resources to their slots)

  • /nextCraftingStage; (this effectively hits the "next" button)

  • /nextCraftingStage; (assuming success, this hits the "next" button")

  • /createPrototype; (this closes the followup naming window)

  • /createPrototype; (this sets the thing to be built)

This really doesn't work near a Crafting station or with a Droid out with a Crafting module because if you use a "Weapons, Droid and General Crafting kit" near one of these, then the "Experimentation" dialog and followup window come up. That messes up the macro apparently.

the macro works well, the only problem is like everyone said you need thousands of hide and bone to get the skill tree done. Im down to about 12k left of survival but I ran out of resources. Just go out on a hunting group that way you can get Combat XP, Credits, and the hide/bone you need.

If anyone would like some help Grinding Survival XP send a tell or email to Kais on the Ahazi server. I've got left over hide and bone from my own grinding operation. If I'm not busy I'll even join you. I need to grind traps. The more happening in your camp the more survival xp.

I was grinding multi-person camp kits at 58pts for 20mins in a multi camp. I could grind out maybe 30-40 kits giving me around 1740-2320 xp, in mycamp for 20 mins gave me an additional 621xp. The only really hard thing is, as mentioned by the others, the amounts of hide and bone needed to do it this way. I must have used something like 7k of hide and 4k of bone just for Survival 4 alone. Be careful when your buying resources, don't think you only need 845 units. Your tools can sense this and you'll find more critical failures then you've ever known.

Also, grinding traps can give slight trapping xp. I find it's easier and more fun to throw them at things. The xp is also much much better.

Good Luck.
