Thread: trapping xp is lame
Tatooine, North-West of Mos Entha. Mutant Womp Rats. 101xp per hit. Not bad weapon xp either.
Haven't found a trap that doesn't work, yet. I usually craft one of each trap and hit it with all of them. I've got trapping 3 now, but was doing it with trapping 2. Hope it works for you too.
i dont see how trapping XP is that much of a problem...
i just solo and my order is,
1. walk far enough away from the city (i am spending most of my time near tyrena on correlia) that there are white con mobs
2. target the whight con mobs and use two traps on them (i currently have trapping II and am using wire mesh and bone spur traps)
3. kill the creature and harvest it for bones or hide
4. rinse and repeat steps 2 and 3 until im incapacitated or **edit** near close
5. make a camp, sit in it until i have full HP (i usually craft more traps or do survey or something while im in my camp), and disband it
6. rinse and repeat steps 2-5
this gets me XP in my favored weapon, trapping, hunting/exploration, and survival while me not having to farm any extra XP
my survival XP is usually subpar because i usually only stay in the camp long enough to get half of the max, but then i just go out and do some extra surveying or something and refresh my camp every 15 min
Mountain Squill east of Anchorhead are good 300+ xp.
Rogue Fambaa around Keren give 500+ xp.
Make sure to lead with adhesive mesh trap (keep throwing this one till it sticks), phecanine dart, and bone spur. With a macro you can get off your first 6 traps before the critter hits you (assuming your adhesive mesh trap sticks).
Make sure that you aren't holding a rifle, carbine, or heavy weapon in your hand, or you will get squished quick when they break free of the trap. One time I was able to throw 16 traps at a Rogue Fambaa before it incapped me into the ground.
Hope this helps.
