Thread: I need trapping xp
Kaadu, Belle Bols and other medium to large size creatures are great for XP, and if you've got friends or a pet, they're good.
Check my Scout and Ranger guides for more detailed info.

Also, try to hit each creature with all of the different trap types that you can create. You get xp for each different type of trap used on each creature. So let's say you get 120 trapping xp for using a lecapanine dart on a gualama. Let's say you also get 120xp for using a wire mesh trap on a gualama. Use both and get 240xp total per creature. ![]()
This works even better if you have pets because while the pet tanks the creatures, you can just sit back and toss traps. ![]()
Definitely great advice to use all traps. Just know that some traps don't 'stack' with themselves very well. For example, a Noise Maker stuns the mob. If you try and toss another Noise Maker at it, you'll get a message that the mob is already stunned, and as a result, you'll get no XP because there was no success.
I have found that Trapping doesn't really draw the attention of a mob if it's on your pet or a group partner already. This is a good thing when you're using a pet.
If you're interested in a pet, I'd recommend a Cowardly Gurreck. Real tough tank guy (3200HAM and 150-160dmg), and it's not as expensive as the toughest CL15 pet (non-CHers can use). Unfortunately, at some point in the next few weeks (month?), the entire Creature Handler profession is going to change, with one result being that the maximum pet a non-CH can use will be CL10. It'll be said to see Kragle the Gurreck go away.
I've been considering an upgrade actually, so thanks for the info! Gurrecks are great, but I think others are better. I'm just loathe to spend an appreciable amount of money to upgrade if I'm going to lose the ability to call it soon. ![]()
Darn,
Look at a Rock Beetle too. They aren't great on attacks, but they're one of the only low level creatures with light armor.
Just don't pay too much - like you said, you won't be able to use it soon.

Mountain Worts on Tatooine give great XP
221 per trap x the amount of traps you can make and you can hit them 2-3 times - this is how I finished Trapping 3 & 4 in 2 hours.
1 -Make at least 2 batches of every kind of trap you can make
2- go to one of you empty command lines. set each trap in an empty space
3 - send you pet in - then go down the line hitting the Mountain Wort with each trap once - wait a few seconds and repeat with the traps. Keep doing this until you either run out of traps or the Mountain Wort dies. I was getting on average 3500 XP on each Mountain Wort.
Also depending on your pet you will get some decent CH XP as well. I got 260 for each Wort.
Hope this helps
Thanks Delta

I recommend Mountain Squill east of Anchorhead, Tattooine. They don't deathblow and are pretty amiable to being trapped.
I also recommend Rogue Fambaa's south of Keren, Naboo. They also don't deathblow and you get 500+xp per landed trap.
Always throw all your traps.
Make sure you are not holding a rifle, carbine, or heavy weapon. (They hit you for 2.5x more damage when holding these weapon types).
I would not throw traps at anything that death blows (like a plains stalker). (The point is to get trapping xp, not visit the clone center).
Finally, before you attack any critter, throw a trap. It'll give you that much more trapping xp, it increases the amount of combat xp you get, and may actually make it easier to kill the critter.
Not Applicable

why would you not be able to call your non-CH pet? Is there something I don't know (as usual, :smileytongue![]()
