But before you read that. Please note that harvester droid ratings are a level against your skill. If a droid has a 100% harvest rating that means it will harvest 100% of what you would. 110% would do 10% better then you. Most people think this means double. Just remember that. Harvest droids are nice because you can harvest will in combat. They will not harvest automatically. You have to target the corpse and tell it a harvest command. A lot of us like a droid thats 5 harvest modules and 1 combat module. So it doesnt run every time its attacked. It can stand in there while you kill whats attacking it.
Trapping modules are exactly as they sound. It gives half trapping xp you would get throwing it yourself. But it doesnt cost a turn to use like throwing a trap yourself does. Also it has a range of 60m which you dont throwing yourself. This makes sense when its called a trap launcher. It will put up the big AIM symbol when its going for long range hits. The number of trapping modules effect its trapping bonus (im still not quite sure what this means overall) but also how many traps it can carry. Note you can not carry more then one type of trap at a time. And when you clear the trapping mechanism you lose the traps you had in it.

If you do not group the droid then it will almost never be attacked.
Grouping means the droid gets noticed by the mob because it is in the group that attacked it. If you do not group the droid the mob treats the droid as independent of you. Since mobs almost never see the droid as a threat they ignore it.
I have sent harvest droids into everything from Nuna's to Enraged Rancors and as long as the droid is not grouped with me it almost never gets aggro.
By almost never I mean well under 1% of the mobs I engage aggro my droid. Practically that means I have an droid get aggro about once out of ever 3 buff cycles (3.5hours).
There is no benefit to the single combat module if you do not group the droid and there is no reason to group the droid.
