Thread: Ranger Information Network alive on Kauri

As of last night, The Ranger Information Network was introduced to a small portion of the populace of Kauri.
This is a public chat channel created to not only provide resource information to scouts and rangers, but to provide a place where crafters can easily get in touch with those scouts and rangers to get the resources they need to make their goods.
The channel isn't permanent, so when nobody is in it it goes away. Therefore, a few rangers (and hopefully more rangers and scouts will be willing to do this) have put it upon themselves to start the channel if it isn't already up. Here's how:
right click a chat tab->join channel->kauri->chat-a public.....->create channel
then, simply type in RIN as the tab name, and ranger information network under channel title.
To join or to check it the channel is up already:
right click a chat tab->join channel->kauri->chat-a public.....->RIN-Ranger Information Network->join
It's as easy as that. I'd like to encourage all the scouts and rangers on kauri to drop in and stay a while. With everyone pitching in, we can have a great channel where anyone who needs help with scout/ranger related issues can get it, where crafters can easily find a scout or ranger willing to take on harvesting contracts, and where a bunch of like-minded players can have a good time.

Have you posted on your galaxy forum? Some of the biggest participents will actually be the doctors and crafters who need your resources. In fact they may even hi-jack it. You could always tell who was controlling RIN on Radiant by whether it was called "Ranger Information Network" or "Resource Information Network." Some days theyre were more people sharing waypoints for the latest great copper then there were for wooly hide.
It is a great and enjoyable channel. Don't get discouraged by low turn-out at first. Chat channels always take a while to get off the ground.

Nice job Seraph. We did the same thing for RoB a while back. When ever some part of RoB logged in, they would check to see if the channel was up. If not, create it. It worked well for us in general for when a hunt was in progress or about to start. But we occasionally got people to hop in asking a ranger/scout question or crafters asking what we were currently hunting etc.

actually, I'd posted this in here, the ranger forum, and kauri forum... we had a great turnout last night considering it was only started yesterday. We had a number of scouts and beginning rangers in there looking for pointers, and a number of crafters hiring for hides and meat.
