Thread: Finding Mask Scent Gear

What is the best way to find mask scent modded gear? I've been playing for about a month and I'm very frustrated at not being able to modify my search parameters in the bazaar. For example I don't want to see every possible item that could be worn on my arm, I want to see specifically an arm item with a mask scent mod. Is this possible?

Also do the mods work in the sense that every "Blue Striped Shirt" has the same mod, or do certain professions attach a mod to any piece of clothing they want? If the second option is true I guess there is no rhyme or reason to finding mask scent clothing, its just a matter of examining blindly ever item in the bazaar?

Ruble,

Your best bet is to visit player controlled vendors, especially those advertising "Bio Engineered" clothing. Usually the BE who made the clothing will put the skill mods in the title, which makes it easier to find.

You will generally not find those types of items on the regular bazaar, because they're more expensive.

Not every piece of clothing is the same. Tailors are able to craft clothing that has "sockets" (up to four). Some clothing, like BE clothing, has the mods and may also have sockets. Some just have sockets. If you get a "clothing attachment", you can drop the attachment on socketed clothing and the shirt will get that modifier. Armor works similiarly with armor attachments.

and remember...sometimes it's worth working for an hour gathering some really good stuff so you can befrend a BE, and Armorsmith, and sometimes a tailor. This way, after giving them a "tribute" they will feel that you did them a good favor and might even give you

  • items for free for helping them out with good materials

  • a hefty discount depending on what you did for them

  • lots an lots of money (this is when items1 and 2 fail). IF they decide to be rude to you, charge them an extra 10 cpu, and move on to another one until you find a friendly face.

Taking Hakai's thinking a little further. Go to www.swgcraft.com and look up whats required in the BE schematics. Then take the best materials you can find and go to a master BE. If you have the materials in hand they'll usually cut you a break in price. And you know your getting the best possible enhancements.

BTW be aware that 4 socket tailored clothing is rare now. Its not like it used to be. So expect to see 2, 3 and occasionally 4 socketed clothing
