Thread: Harvesting Macros
I was hunting on Dathmir last night with a large group. The leaders rules were "whoever gets the harvest first gets gets the harvest, and no whining!". Great thought I, I can finally finish my scouting tonight and go master. Not. I got two harvests! ( there were only 8 of us) Out of all the Pikets and Bols and those tracker volsthat we got I got two. I was wondering, I use the radial menu to harvest, is there any faster way to do it? Like maybe some sort of macro or somthing? How is everyone else getting the harvest faster then I am?
One other quick question. -)
Traps! I was using the dart traps, the ones that no one can pronounciate that require metal. I musta threw 50 of those things and maybe 5 actually worked. Is this a bug? Or should I have been using some other trap? Or what was I doing wrong. For me trapping has been the hardest XP to get, but not for lack of trying!I find that alot of times I get no XP from traps I throw.
Any help would be appreciated.

Os,
Read my "From Novice to Master" guide for the harvesting macro. You got stuck with a bad group leader - well, maybe not bad, but certainly lazy. Sorry.
As for traps, whether they hit depends on the type of trap, the level of the creature, and your skill. If you guys were out hitting a high level creature, and you were using a low level trap, you'll get a higher failure rate. A good rule of thumb is to have one set of EACH trap that you rotate through, as some are more likely to hit than others. Metal and polymer are readily available on the bazaar now and should cost too much.
The best advice I can give for trapping is to be throwing traps EVERY SINGLE TIME you get into combat with a creature. You'll go through it in no time. Good luck!
Thanks DeltaX, I am feel kinda silly because I did read both your guides, but somehow missed the harvesting macros. Anyway, I shoulda thought of /harvest bone. ![]()
On the trapping thing. I thought that using a higher level trap,(phenacine dart)would work better on higher level creatures so that's all I was making/using last night. Thanks for straightening that out.

ReallyREALLY close to Master Scout
Os,
Good luck - let us know when you hit Master.
And my other post should read "...and they SHOULDN'T cost too much."
Hadn't had my coffee yet.
B
make micros/harvest bone, /harvest meat and /harvest hide
Ialso suggest Moving the"mouse toggle" from the (Alt) to the(Windows) key and/or mouse wheel button, this frees up the Alt key so you can have Alt+( ) commands.
For example I have a macros called Hide, Meat, Bone, and LootI use for harvesting. I also set may keyboard so Alt+H runs the Hide macro, Alt+B = Bone, Alt+L = Loot and Alt+M = meat.
I have tried to remap the alt key to the wheel on the mouse, but it never sticks... This was a while back.. was there ever a bug w/ remaping keys that has been fixed since?
Fodder650 wrote:/loot would just bring up the loot box. /loot all would allow you to loot without a confirmation box
My macro goes like this:
/harvest meat;
/loot;
that will give me the meat from an animal and any loot if it's a lootable animal. If I use it on an NPC I kill, it will give me the money and some loot if there is some. On NPC's with more than one lootable item, it would appear that I get them all, such as getting 3 heavyduty clasps or something of that nature. That's why I'm curious as to whether /lootall is any different than /loot.
