Thread: Had a thought on foraging...

As I foraged my like umpteenth "Your inventory is full giant invisible cake" I got an idea.


I was thinking there might be 1 or 2 new ideas for foraging that might grab peoples attention and make it that much more of an interesting skill to have.


A) like the loot kits, give scouts craftable items based off of forageable materials. We could build dreamcatchers out of foraged bone, twine, and beads or use foraged wood blocks as mounts for our trophy catches... essentiallysomething cool to sell or hang up as unique.


B) tie our foraging in with chef needs. Maybe give them a few "food enchancements" like the slots on weapons or armor that take krayt tissue and the like. A chef could throw in some foraged "nutmeg" to get an extra kick out of some of their recipes.


Just a thought...

Nice Hakai. We would be a chefs best friend. Who needs BE when you have rangers. Strangely it would actually be fun to roleplay foraging spices and such. And then I think the chefs would enjoy it to.

I like the idea.


I think we can add this in there - I just want a forage loot table that's full and make sense. So it works the way Green intended it to when he developed the system.

I agree Delta... my big thought though is that it should not only be full but beneficial. I love these loot kits and am going crazy looking for schematics. Tying it to the scout profession would be fun. The Spices / enhancments idea comes out of the whole BEs providing tissues issue. Why not have them providing enhancements while they're still learning the basics of the skill. it'd be a great way to start getting their foot in the door when it came to finding Chef customers.

Great concept! It is good for scouts and good for chefs, especially the poorer ones. Perhaps we could get all our existing foraged foods to have some level of added flavor. It would belie any chef concerns about improved foraged foods....
