On the Lowca server, we are having major problems imo with the harvesting of creature based resources. Avain, Carnivore, Herbivore meats ect ect. The crafters have to pay premium prices for the little bit of meat that they can get their hands on. This in turn raises the prices of foods, and other resources. Espeacially since we have not had a good influx of a large quantity of meat in some time.
Is there anything being planed? My fear is that when JTLS comes out, even less people will hunt for these things.

Well, sounds like good old supply & demand working just fine. High demand + low availability = high price for the resources.
A couple things could happen:
1) high prices motivate more folks to hunt & gather more. This increases the supply of the resources, and eventually prices drop to a more "reasonable" level (tho what defines "reasonable" is probably up to interpretation)
2) some one decides to sell their resources at a low cost DESPITE high demand, in a noble effort to try and bring prices down. MIGHT work, but if there is more demand for the stuff than there is a supply, may not have a huge impact long term.
3) All the ub3r l33ts of the world run off to the new shiny toy (JtL) for a bit, then realize they need megabucks to buy and maintain a ship. They return groundside and start hunting and selling resources at the rather high prices, which eventually starts to stabilize things and prices slowly drop.

Don't want to sound mean or callous but, "them's the breaks." I'd say critter resources are at about the level they should be. The problem you're describing is not related to the amount that can be harvested, but the amount that is being harvested-or just being put on the open market, most folks deal with a limited number of people. It will correct itself as some people will think, "Hey those scouts/rangers are cleaning up selling this stuff... I'll join them." A little bit afterward, organics are all over the place, people drop scout/ranger, resources become rare...
Also don't entirely blame the scout/ranger community. I had some one ask me for corellian dom. meat, offered 70 CPU straight off the bat. Told him we'll discuss price after I get the size stack he was after. After all was said and done sold it for around 20 CPU, humbabas are like durni. I never went further than 2K from a guild outpost and got plenty for the order. Any other person I would've went with the initial price, but I just couldn't stick it to the guy. He was expecting a big ordeal, lots of bitching and moaning about trying to get that meat, so I took it as a sort of challenge.

But I do think some of the problem might be because of Lowca's low population. Just looking at new messages on server forumns..we have about the lowest.

Watch the trade forum for some time. Most people on lowca sell their resources when the shift is over and everyone is in need for it, so the price can be increased more

And?
The supply and demand principle will work with three (3) people. If the server population is low, well then docs shouldn't be making 1K run schematics every day to keep up with demand. Low server population means low consumer population, which also mean low producer population. It goes in cycles and has a system of checks and balances.

One thing that happened was, BHs, the short bus riders, screwed themselves out of decent harvests in the interest of more power.
No Master Scout = lower harvest = not worth their precious time (gag, as most afk macro fight meatlumps for XP).
I love it when people whine about no resources. As I sit on how much of the current shift, waiting for the stuff to go to crap again?
Heh heh heh,
I am a Master Ranger/master pistoleer. I can solo just about anything worth harvesting. Solo = no loss of harvest. I am guessing making a million credits a weekend, of what is actually just casual play, is bragging, but there ya go. BTDT, got the t shirt and creds to show for it. Of course, I have worked on my creature dropping skills, can do it quickly, economically and harvest as much as possible.
Also, many people are busy grinding FS. Large hint, I can't open the trees that are driven by Scout XP, so why harvest, just kill and move on? Strangely enough, I still harvest, and have made decent bucks even at 2 -10 cpu.
No, the amount of resources is fine. Work on your skills.

As a former BE from Lowca, I can empathize with all of you trying to kick people into harvesting for you. Way back when, I remember offering 40 CPU (this before the inflation REALLY started kicking in) for that 900/900 OQ/PE Naboo meat and only managing to get around 9k of it - and half of it was stuff I got with my own pistol.
I eventually dropped BE, but I still kept an eye out for good resource shifts, with the idea that now that I had a good combat prof I'd reap it in. But, eventually, just like all the other players I see now, I realized that it was simply too much work to be worth the extra credits. I could double my mission money by collecting every single scrap of meat from a rancor lair after 5 minutes of clicking through stacked corpses - or I just strafe shot it dead in 15 seconds and move to the next one. It's not even really worth my time to run the 60 meters to collect the meat from the 7-9 dead rancors (again stacked on top of each other) around the lair.
Unless they come up with an auto-harvest option for your droid, I doubt I'll start collecting meat again, no matter what price is offered. I wouldn't mind an extra minute or two waiting for it to zip from corpse to corpse collecting, as long as I didn't have to put up with trying to find the full and empty ones.

I see a labor issue. Solo groups are attracting the casual hunters with easy credits. Now crafter have to bump up the offer to keep us interested.
Here are the prices on starsider right now. What are you guys getting?
Naboo av’meat 260cpu, Yavinian wooly hide 100cpu, Yavinian carnivore meat 40cpu, Endorian carnivore meat 35cpu
