Exploration. I made a character last week on a other server. I though i was going to play a brawler. So I started to run to the nearest creature, and what speed, damn i crawl faster than non-scouts walk on hills

Exploration, because of MaskScent.
I don't see the benefit of Hunting, because the bonus it gives you is small when talking in terms of how much meat/hide/bown you get from the creatures that really matter - avian meat and such.
Survival and Trapping are ok - but there's a lot of grinding involved in trapping before you can get traps that'll work on the larger critters, and tents seem to have lost their usefulness now that group hunting is becoming less and less the norm.

I think all the trees are useful, but I have to agree Exploration is my favorite with Hunting a close second. Maskscent and Terrain Negotation are great if you don't want to use a vehicle (or run from over half the fauna in the game). Hunting is good because like to know about the creatures I'm hunting, their strengths, weaknesses and such.

If I was forced to drop some stuff -
Camping would go first, as I have medic.
Hunting would go second. I can live with less.
Traps and Exploration would be a fight. I love traps, and going slow makes me insane.
On the Ranger side of the house, Camping goes first, then traps, as Ranger traps suck.
And that is what will go if and when I ever decide to be a Jed-eye.

I like the exploitation tree....oh wait, that is a diferent prof!
I hate slowing down for hills, so I would have to say exploration...

Exploration. Mask scent and terrain negotiation are the two most useful scout skills, IMHO.

You are right. Mountains can kiss my arse, when I have the exploration tree, no more crawling.
