Thread: what scouts need

scouts need 2 more abilitys to make them trues scouts

Firstis the ability to make armor and im not talking about bone armor quality i mean like rib bones strung on some hide type armor

Second they need a killing trap so they dont need weapons just trap the animal till its 25% ham on a bar then attempt the deathblow trap so hunting does not require pistol rifle unarmed ... ect xp so you could grind scout faster by just hunting animals by you equipment only

They want you to have to rely on other professions, though.

just a few points:


armor is made by armorsmiths and artisans. That's the way it should be. Nobody but medics can create meds, no one but scouts and Rangers can make camps. Seperation is the key to balancing an MMORPG. If we could make our own armor, what would you use it for. I can give my crappy bone and hide to any AS I know and they'll make me a set of bone armor for free. If it's good armor, then it would take away from AS.


the "trapping" thing has come up several times on the Ranger board and I address it like this: if it can killa creature, the creature has to be low creature level. Even a bear doesn't get killed by bear traps. It bleeds them and makes them weak, yes...but you still need to put the bullet (or arrow) into them to kill them. The way it seems to work out best is if you have a very small cap...say creature level 25 or below in scout...and those are the only animals you can trap. However, the longer you leave it out there, the more chances there will be (perhaps an hourly roll) to have a LARGE and pissed off creature waiting for you. Imagine setting a trap for a rabbit and coming back to find that you accidentaly trapped a mountain lion...who is now pissed of and wants to eat you. That's basically the only way that walk-away trapping wouldn't be unbalancing to those who actually go out and hunt.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.
