Hi all,
After much theoretical study, and extended field trips, I made Master Scout last night. Although I don't role play seriously (I do try a little though), I think it adds to the immersion in the game to have a character in mind when you're playing, and perform actions faithful to that character. To that end, here is my in game biography. You'll find ObiDan exploring the wilds of Naboo (Kettemoor) more often than not, although he is thinking of settling down now that he has graduated.
ObiDan was born and grew up on Tatooine, all the while dreaming of far off, green places. As soon as he could, he left home, and began an education at the Alien Geography Department of UCL on Naboo.
Graduating in geography, he began to work as a freelance wildlife warden. Deeply respectful of the wildlife, ObiDan will only cull diseased or rogue creatures casuing a problem to other wildlife, or the local populace.
His interest in Nabooian history has led him to far off places, sacred to the Gungans. He takes occasional trips off-world to study other creatures and techniques, but always returns to Naboo, a planet he now considers home.
ObiDan believes that his education has only just begun, real world experience being an effective (if sometimes brutal) teacher. He finds it hard to reconcile killing creatures he has great respect for, but realises that such management of the wildlife is an essential and ultimately humane act.
He travels with his fathful kaadu, Champional.
Also, this morning I received my copy of The Wildlife of Star Wars: A Field Guide by Terry Whitlatch and Bob Carrau. A superb guide to the creatures, most matching their appearance in the game, it really fleshes out the digital bones ofthe wildlife. It geing bound in Bantha hide is a lovely touch! It will be constantly by my machine while I play.
Well, cheers,
ObiDan Eccles

Welcome ObiDan! This is a fairly laid-back forum, we try to have a good time as wellas talk aboutthe class. So don't mind the jokes, gambols, and other sundry attempts at humor, especially fromme.

Obidan,
Congratulations! Welcome to the Master Scout club.
Okay, I didn't want to do this, but I can't take it any longer. The Rancors have to be washed. The stench is unbearable. I thought it would go away when Hakai cleaned up their poodu, but that actually made it worse. If this doesn't work, I'll need a chef to whip us up some crazy big altoids - their breath is the only other thing that I can think of that may be causing this stench. Woooo...
So what's next on the hitlist?

Thanks all. I enrolled for post-grad study, and took the title of novice ranger now. It looks like ObiDans ambition to become the Daktari / Bush Tucker Man of Kettemoor is getting closer......

Dan,
Get an armorsmith to make you a composite helm. I think they've got their own air supply.

I have one, but the vents are clogged up in seconds. What the hell are you feeding this thing - vindaloo curried Jedi?
'And I though they smelled bad on the outside!'

Well, that's finally done. I'm off to Tatooine for a nice DRY sand bath, and then sit in a sandstorm to blow this stench out of my nose. I'd have gone for Chaf ifI'd known this was going to happen.....
