Thread: New fish idea?

I don't know if this is the appropriate forum for this, but fishing seems to go hand in hand with scouting, so here goes....


One thing that seems odd to me is that all the planets have all the same species of fish. No matter what planet you're on, you can catch either a laa, a faa, a striped fish, a bluefish, a blackfish, a blowfish or a ray (I think that's all of them). Doesn't this seem odd to anyone? With few exceptions, all the planets have a very diverse range of different animals. So, with that being said....


How about planet specific fish? Sure, we can still have the same seven named above, but in addition, each planet could have one or two unique fish. Tatooine could have a mudfish, since there are only a few known fishing spots on this planet (look harder)! I imagine that Dathomir could have some hideously ugly fish, and on the opposite, Naboo having something regal and flamboyant.


Now, don't get me started on fresh water and non-fresh water fish (i.e. oceans). How would you like to go fishing on Naboo and catch one of those colo claw fish, an opee sea killer, or the large sando aqua monster!


The developers are always looking to add more content (so I've heard), this would be a great opportunity, in my opinion. Plus, I need different fish for my new aquarium!

This is a great idea, and something that I'd like to see get done. But with all the craziness going on, I can tell you that the plate for Dev stuff is full. This isn't the best time for adding new content. But I'll add this to the list.

Yeah interesting idea. But with the Droid Engineers, Artisans, Pistoleers, Carbineers, Merchants, Creature Handlers, and Droid Engineers again all screaming at the devs, maybe this is an idea for the summer, butBEFORE the expansion comes out. (we all know once that comes out they'll spend the next year patching it....)

Even though they are the same species the "trophies" look somewhat different. Striped fish> Tatooine yellow with black stripes, Corellia yellow with magenta stripes, Dathimor yellow with light blue stripes...

Thanks for the reply. I'm not that up to date on the Scout issues, let alone the other professions problems or complaints. I'm sure new fish species isn't that high on the developers to do list. Just throwing out ideas, that's all.

I just noticed this last night as I was adding more fish to my aquarium. Looks like I'm going to do some more fishing trips to different planets!

Oh yeah, Delta, I forgot to add, how about one possible fish being similar to a moray eel? I know, it's not a priority, just a thought!
