Seeing how you don't have any rifle or carbine - buy whatever pistol you can afford that you can use. Check your certifications, or buy a Republic Blaster.

For more detailed analysis, post this on the Marksman forum.

Yeh, check the Marksman forum. But my personal faves are Bowcaster, Scout Blaster, and EE3 Carbine. Of course you'll have lots of people say no way. But to me it's about personal taste and not about damage and stats.

Considering you're asking this on the Scout Forum, I suppose your main use for this weapon will be hunting creatures. In that case, armor penatration won't be that important.Given your skills, a highdps (damage per second) pistolshould be what you're interested in.However, there is one thingmost people forget about that you should take into consideration, ideal range. This is especially important if you are hunting solo and don't have a pet to tank.Since theideal rangebonus can help offset the accuracy penalty of moving while fighting. I still use DH-17 and DH-17 Snubs for my general hunting, eventhough Ican use and afford higher damage carbines. On the other hand, it might not be as important a consideration for you. As a pistol user most of your weapons might have ideal ranges suitable for "kiting".

As mentioned before, going to the Marksman Forum should be helpful as well.

Dark,

It's important that you know your prey.

At your level, stick with a Scout blaster. When you get up to Novice Pistoleer, you're going to want to make sure that you've got a few pistols that you can change based on your prey. For example- I believe an FWG5 does Heat damage, so use this if your critter is vulnerable to heat. Same for the Scout and energy, etc.

I have three rifles that I swap out - My laser is my standard for regular use. I throw up my T-21 for use against heavily armored critters or folks wearing any armor but composite in PvP, and throw up my Jawa Ion for use against PvPers with good composite, because it does Stun damage, and even the best composite won't have higher than a 38% resist to stun.
