And as camps don't stop spawns, what happens when aggros spawn in your area and decide to have lunch?
I have seen more than one dead macro'r laying there, waiting for the doofus running him to come back to clone.

This is interesting, if you can target other stuff besides pets like you said.
Could the target then be changed to a sign or an NPC out there, then this macro could be done without pets.

This is interesting...
I still don't know why anyone would want to macro this, but hey - if it works, this is a good tool for those who are hologrinding.

Recently I decided to go up the ranger tree again after having laid off it for many months now. In so doing I had planned on using one of the numerous combat camping macro's out there but decided i wanted to try something new. In every macro I write I desire stability above all else. Combat camp macro's to me represent an unstable macro. Too many variables such as chance of Death, loss of Spawn, incap etc etc can throw off a macro and make it stop working. Granted they work well and numerous people have used them...this macro though I feel is more stable and more efficient...I may be wrong but I felt proud I was able to make a workaround and wanted to share it...flame if you want...or don't...I am posting nonetheless.
Requirements...2 stationary pets or Players roughly 40-50 meters apart..a wide open area devoid of spawns and 24 camps pre made and loaded onto your toolbar.
Call your pets at a setup camp...move one of them about 50 meters away. Example Pet Names Bob and Bill
The timing for this is almost exactly like the timing for combat macro.
Step 1. Place your first camp
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/pause 900;
/target (Bill)
/pause 1;
/follow;
/pause 160;
/ui action toolbarSlot01;
/pause 900;
/target (Bob)
/pause 1;
/follow;
/pause 160;
/ui action toolbarSlot02;
/repeat previous 2 series changing the toolbarSlot#
this macro can then be aliased in your SWG alias file in your SWG folder....simply log out and exit the game...open your SWG folder...find your aliases.txt file....open it and copy and paste away....to make an alias you name it *campmacro then be sure to leave 2 spaces then put in the actual macro text....when you want to launch it from IG you simply type /campmacro or whatever you named it
save the file and launch SWG...upon log in make sure your pets are in position and type the alias i.e /campmacro
your character will then setup a camp...wait for the desired time....then run to the first pet...he'll pause long enough for the old camp to disband and then immediately put up a new camp wihtout having to wait the extra time for the first camp to "poof"....once that timer is up he runs to the 2nd pet and repeats...
benefits to this macro:
1: stable as heck...no need to risk getting attacked or losing a spawn due to someone else killing it
2. efficient...saves time in the "poof" stage
3. No risk of death and no need for any combat skills at all
4. this method could be used to make a very simple and not very well done combat macro utilizing small static spawns that have a tendency to get spread out or spawn critters beyond your reach (good for meleers)
5. If i am right and I think I am you could map a city and have your character run to various locations using such items as signs, terminals etc as static WP's...granted this is just lazy but say you are entering into coronet and want to get a drink...hit your "CoronetCityMap" macro let your toon run to the cantina, or the hospital or bank while you partake of your favorite beverage...
oh yeah...since it's aliased you get extra camps in your toolbars =ing more xp...(aliases don't have a length cap like macro's do)(aliases are only very beneficial for long non looping macro's)
if this is retarded and dumb I apologize...i felt good finding an alternative method to combat camping that I feel is more stable and more efficient...if it's been done before I apologize also...I don't read the forums much but I felt like sharing..
take care...

on the other hand you can just craft traps and camps to get survival xp...
