Stand in shallow water and pop the camp. It may work, it may not, depending on the area. Look for shallows and it does. I did it once, tho I hate fishing.

Hi, I jst started an alt on Starsider, and was trying out the fishing. I read here and there that you can fish from a camp, getting bonuses to wilderness XP thatway as well, but I can't seem to get it to work - it always jumps the shoreline out so far I can't fish while inside the camps radius.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a trick to this?

1. stand in the water, it will say 'you can't build in the water'.
2. move back to the shorline (right at the waters edge)
3. look towards the water and build the camp.
the entire camp should be submerged if you do it right.

Head to either the top or the bottom of the map and set up your camp on the beach.
Stand right at the edge of the water, then pop you cap. If you do it right, the camp should be submerged.
I've never been able to get it to work anywhere but on a beach, personally.

What I do is stand at the edge of the water. I start fishing, then i use the camp, and it appears submerged. Then you just continue fishing from that camp.
