Thread: Recon missions bugged????
I have recently taken fourRECON missions and every time I get close to completing the mission (by reaching the waypoint) I get a message saying that the "mission is incomplete". The waypoint dissappears and the mission is removed from my datapad. What's up with that? It's not like there close by. I have to travel long distances (one was about 5k meters) to get to the destination. Has this happened to anyone else or am I just crazy?Needless to say that I have stopped taking recon missions.
Yes you are right often this happen also to me. ![]()
Something is definetively wrong on these missions.
Hmm ... never tried recon missions so what I'm going to say might be way off base. ![]()
The image that I have about recon missions is that you need to investigate something at given waypoint. Ok ... that's fairly obvious. But doesn't doing recon also mean that you're trying to do it unnoticed? ![]()
Keeping that in mind ... wouldn't it seem that you failed your mission if the target your trying to recon notices you? Anyway that's what comes into my mind.
As I said before ... I've never tried recon missions so I really don't know what I'm talking about. This was solely based on image that I have about doing recon. ![]()
Just my 2 cents.
I had this happen to me and a friend told me that it happens when the object is to sneak up on something. When you get close you have to maskscent/crawl etc. so that the animals or whatever don't notice you. If they notice youthen you fail the mission.I don't know if this is true - I haven't tried it since - but if it is, it definitely makes the explore missions more scout-centric!

I don't think that's the case.
I had a mission to find a wrecked shuttle. I wasn't told to be stealthy or not get caught. There were no aggros and no one else around. I would have thought it was a time-sensitive mission, but I had run non-stop in nearly a straight line from the moment I took the mission.
It happened again a few minutes later with the very next mission to find the owner of a droid with a blank memory to see if it belonged to anyone important. Again there was no reason to be stealthy and I wasn't told to hurry. Just as I got in sight of the WP the mission ended seemingly at the same distance as last time.
I posted about it on the SWG Discussion forum and was told its a bug.

Guys,
I'll pass the information on to the Devs.
But please, /bug it in game so that it hits their CSR reports and gets reviewed.
