Thread: Idea for /forage (yes delta it's constructive :)
like in the Krayt grave yard there would be a chance to /forage and find a dragon pearl in a bone cluster, or skulls or bones or other similar stuff
I know you can get bile out of the sarlacc so this isn't much different.
/forage around a base and maybe find components to weapons or power, uniforms Etc.
Also a chance you find just junk, or sandflys or something.
In other words make it something for finding something other than muchies and bait

This reminds me of the "uberforage" that was in the game early on (I remember Holo teasing us in beta about the cool "yellow letter" forage that had been distrubted around for us to find) but was bugged so that your inventory was always too filled up for the foraged good to be put in it.
I've always thought that /forage in specific areas (around dynamic spawn camps, for example) should, logically, lead to something other than food items, like the random CDEF or a belted vest or perhaps a datadisk or something similar that the Monumentors or Jawas of the spawnleft lying around.
Around the krayt graveyard, it would be VERY cool to forage a pearl out of the bones. In fact, anywhere on Tat you should have a vanishingly small chance of /foraging a krayt pearl. On Dantooine, perhaps force crystals. I've thought that critter lairs should, very rarely, have force crystals hidden away in them.

It's a good idea - one that's been brought up before. I'm still trying to figure out if this is a possiblity code wise - I am not sure if they can code "regions" or things like that - although I know that it can be done with spawning, so maybe it can. I'll throw this on our list and see if we can get some info on it.
I think forage may be the next thing that I ask about in our weekly question.
