Thread: What actual effect does the Hunting tree have?
Read the FAQ, more resources per beast

You can harvest more resources from creatures
And when u /examine creatures you get more info about them
Hi guys, thanks for the replies thus far.
I have checked the FAQ and Master Guide but alas they do not provide the information I require.
I would like to know specifically what the Hunting skill tree does. I realise it allows you to harvest more resources, but by how much for each level? What are the actual figures (ie. 1.5x harvest).
Secondly, precisely what information does each level of Hunting give you? For example, as a test I dropped from Hunting IV to Hunting II and couldn't see any apparent difference in my examine window. It makes no difference to /consider either.
Finally, can someone explain what the to-hit bonus is? What it does and it's effects, etc? When mastering a profession I like to know exactly what I'm getting - which is why I chose Carbineer cos of their amazing info in the forum.
Thanks again.

Short answer - 30% more at Master Ranger than Master Scout. The higher up you go in levels, the more you get.
Long answer - What you want is about impossible to do, about being the operative word. If two people of differing levels went out and killed twin creatures at the same time and harvested and compared results - and did this a significant amount of times to have a statistical base, then yes, you can do it. However, there are creature harvest variations even within lairs - some give x, some give x+, some x-, so it is a giant pain in the butt to figure out what is a harvest difference and what is a creature difference. They would have to do this for every level of hunting, both Scout and Ranger, for the numbers to be relevant. This could take literally a week. No thanks -Plus numbers make my head hurt. People have tried to do this, there are some posts here and on the Ranger forum. General concensus was - /shrug - the higher you are the more you get, we knew that.
Of course, you can go ask the guys on the Pistoleer forum. There are enough charts, graphs and stats there to gag a Rancor. They live for numbers.
Might I suggest veghash if you want to get more harvest without using skillpoints?

We don't know the real numbers. They aren't published, as that apparently is "part of the fun" of playing MMOs (Devs words, not mine).
You also get creature to-hit bonuses, and creature examine info. You can see more info about a creature the higher up you get in the hunting trees when you /examine 'em.
