Can be, dunno why you want to be tho. You need some Ranger to track babies, and by the time you get MCH, MS and some Ranger, you can't fight worth a lick to defend yourself.

Yeah yeah, the pets... all mainly do kinetic damage, and a lot of the nasties have high kinetic resistance.

And what happens when a mob beats feet past your pets, and starts chewing on you? Lunchable time.

To each his or her own tho - good luck, know a good doctor.

Feared,

In order to become a Creature Handler, you need to get to Exploration 4 and Hunting 4 in the Scout profession.

And just what we need - another Rebel.

It's not that bad JB. As a master Creature Handler and a Ranger with Tracking III I could still master any elite combat profession.

Of course after the Combat Balance everyone will be in the same boat, so even that doesn't matter.

My prediction: when the combat rebalance finally hits, and everyone but CH is nerfed, the howls will be louder than a herd of fambaa in the streets of Theed.

If this is done right, the days of most players tanking for themselves in critter combat will be at an end.

Heh, then how long do you predict before people yell "Nerf CH" again? Hehe. And don't point out that the holy grail could quite conceivably drop everyone a notch or 10 in power. People don't like to think of it that way.

Yes, you have to be a scout to be a CH. There are no mutually exclusive professions in this game.

I know. I just think its funny to think that when the rebalance finally gets completed we'll be back to where we were months ago. Everyone calling for CH to be nerfed.

I'm actually looking forward to everything being balanced. I just hope mob resists are balanced. Too many of the higher end are 100% resistant to every damage type available to certain professions. For instance, the most common 100% resist is Kinetic. Almost every CH pet does kinetic damage. So CH (and most of the melee profs) are locked out from even participating in killing that creature.

But that's a whole other couple subjects (100% creature resists, CH pets only having one dmg type on average...)

Nerf buffs, seldom am I buffed to hunt.

Nerf armor, seldom wear the crap, slows everything down.

Go ahead, nerf pistol damage, I will just run and shoot more.

One word - tactics. I know how to fight and seldom bother with buffs and armor. Tactics = knowing how to fight smarter, not harder.

Scope out my post on the Ranger forum, it's stickied.

I honestly can say, I don't fear the "Combat Balance", means I get to kill more stuff, to include morons who think an unarmored Ranger is easy prey.

JB, you just lost the Quake PvP crowd. They don't grok that "tactics" stuff.

DiLune, CH was nerfed as part of the combat rebalance 4 months ago.

Everyone else is just catching up with us. When buffs get zapped, and people can no longer wear 80% composite with impunity, there will be MANY conniption fits by players who have gotten used to these power levels. It was a serious mistake by the devs NOT to carry through with the revamp on the schedule they promised, because they managed to up the relative power levels BEFORE rebalancing the damage dealing and absorbtion of player.

Oh, and all scouts are not CHs, but all CHs are scouts!

Yeah Sio, I know.

But it is so much fun to be grouped, explain in detail how you are going to pull one Rancor, and then have some moron aggro the group. That's when I kick the moron to save the rest of us, and watch the moron get ate. And as the moron screams "Help me" I have been heard to say - you got you into this mess, you get you out, next time listen to the Ranger.

Of course, I do enjoy the BH morons who are uber and leet and stand in one spot. I drop them like flies, buffs and armor non-withstanding, as they can't hit what they can't target.

And "grok" ?? lol Been a while since I read about Michael.

yes you can be a scout and creature handler at the same time, you have to be, first you have to work your way up the scout tree to get enough xp to get creature handler then get trained in creature handler
