on naritus a good avian spawn just came up on rori, so im trying to hunt it being a doc and all.

the only things that give avian are rasps (which give like 6-10 per which is pathetic) and vir vurs.

however, i simply cant get virvur missions, or find any in the open. I've tried grouping with 1-4 people, trying different weapon combinations and whatnot to change power, and they dont come up.

They DO however come up in the explorer missions, but that does me no good, as i've literally flown around the entire planet 3.5 full times (which took hours) and found only 2 lower level lairs in all that time.

so what do i have to do to get vir vur missions to come up? thanks

ive read posts on the forums someplace about people pulling virvur missions on the explorer terms, then pulling reg virvur missions and doing both at the same time...

and a friend of mine used to do them a long time ago on rori as well.

There used to be vir vur missions on the terminals at level 20-25, but they are gone now. There used to be devil gulginaw missions on the Cor. terminals as well, but they have also disapeared.

What you need to do if you are going to be an effective hunter is figure out where these creatures like to spawn and go hunt them.Just as there are certain areas of Tatooine that are conducive to dragons and certain areas of Naboo that are conducive to albatrosses, there are certain areas of Rori that are conducive to midnight, dusk, and twilight vir vurs (midnight's drop ~50 units for a master ranger).

I'm not giving away any trade secrets to say that the rebel outpost is a good starting point, but there are other areas as well, which I'll leaveup to you to find.

I know that it might be painful to wean yourself away from the mission terminals, but if you start figuring out where certain creatures are most likely to spawn on what planets, it will increase the amount of resources you are able to pull in. Even when you can get missions for creatures, wild lairs yield two or three times more than mission lairs will. Of course, missions will help you find creatures faster, but if you can run missions from a player city that is as close as possible to where the most natural lairs are likely to spawn, then you'll be a happy scout/ranger.

I've found lots of vir vurs around the rebel base, so I'd give that area a shot.

I agree that hunting rasps is a tremendous PITA, but when the avian is good on Rori, you do what you gotta do.

Ok, I'm no master scout only 4-0-4-4, but I do know this. Wild spawns of Viv virs only occur at night or the wee early hours of the morning. I usually do Imp faction missions from Restuess and run into viv virs near my missions a lot. So check out the planetary time and get some sun during the day. Hunt those Viv virs at night folks.

Go to Narmle, usually in the mountain regions you can find vir-vurs also heading out towards the swamp area, you will find vir-vurs, dashing vir-vurs
