ah ha! i just had an idea while trying not to fall asleep at work!
I noticed that we had more of an interest in becoming more active in the GCW. (cursed as it may be until the combat balance).
My general idea is that the scout are more for support than a lot of the other professions.
I remember the good old days when everyone would stand around in a high tech camp healing and preparing for a big push. Why not make it where scouts can craft camps that offer some form of combat bonuses to any faction affiliated/grouped members in the effective radius?
In this sense, a scout would run up to a spot using his superior burst run efficiency and terrain negotiation, and plop down a forward defensive outpost ahead of the main body. Once the main body catches up, they all take their spots in the encampment and voila, you have increased to hit, perhaps even damage bonuses.
On top of this there can be a number of camps with specific speciality, or maybe even depending on the resources that you place into it.
The basic outpost will only give you minimal protection against specific types of damage (maybe comparable to the different armors, like bone is good against energy but little else).
Add in small light damage turrets, (yes i am talking of my deadly CDEF turrets ....mwwwaahahahha), and maybe if a commando is present, he can load grenades into a launcher that will throw it toward a random target in range. Who knows? the possiblities are endless.

it would be possible that there could be griefing of some form, but why not make the camps themselves attackable?

i like it!
And you could drop 1 or 2 small <turret type> turrets and covert scanners around ranger camps and maybe a couple of medium turrets around high tech field bases or something... And they cant be used as a HQ since they disapear after a few minutes of no one being in them.

This is one of the parts of the modular camp idea that N'Raas andI presented to the Devs.
