Thread: I want to be a Ranger... but can't master scout HELP!!!
Unfortunately hanging around the busiest starports is probably the only way. I found that I stood next to the scout trainer at Corolag and Tyrena for a few hours and spammed every time someone came close. It is irritating I know, but how else ?!?
When I got desperate I spammed that I would pay to train. Someone with a lot of stored scout exp came up and I trained him about 10 times in explorer 1. That was enough for me.
With all that marksman, you want to be a BH.
The stand at the starport idea is the best - I made 200k in an hour letting people pay me to train me in ranged one.
As to the marksman, best figure out what weapon you like best, drop the other two, and let ranged go away as you climb the trees of your new weapon.

You can pay people to let them train you. That's how I had to get the app points for marksmen and scout.
Another "seedier" way is to find someone else looking for app points, pick up novice entertainer and do a hair style macro on the other guy. Enough to get you hairstyle I. Then train from an NPC trainer and then have the one guy to hairstyles on you and keep training and untraining hairstyle I until you're maxed in app points. Then switch rolls until the other guy is maxed in app points. That's the hologrinder's approach.
You can do the same thing with medic and tumble to standing. But, the other way you won't waste stim packs.
I feel dirty just talking about that method. But, you gotta do what you gotta do. Getting app points at the lower levels is tough.
, and help them climb in scout and marksman skill? One or two good hunts, and they will reach explorer, and probably hunter, and likely be at ranged support 2 and level 3 in the weapon of their choice. Looks pretty win- win to me. Who knows? You might even make a friend along the way.

Yes, if you can *find* new players this is the best way to go. Absolutely. Wear a Newbie Helper tag and take them on a few hunts. Newbies are a lot easier to spot, as well these days because they have those helper droids with them.
For ap xp its sad but you are gonna have to go to coronet.
Its not hard now, all new players start in Mos Eisley on Tatooine. I was bored today after I just finished Survival 4 on my new Infinity character, and Id had enough of hunting bloody Sharnaffs(I can only stay in one place for so long), so I went to Mos Eisley, did a quick /who and started /telling anyone on the list with a novice tag,or no tag at all. I ended up spending an enjoyable evening explaining Scouting and Scout related professions, Rifle marksmanship and other bits and bobs to a really decent bloke who just started the game. I got 60 more APP out of it, and Ill probably take him hunting around Tatooine at some point.
Dont just be an idiot and stand there in ME spamming you're training, a new player wont know what the hell your on about, take the time to explain stuff to them and help them out, even if you dont get any APP, its rewarding in and of itself.
