Ok so I read in the FAQ that I should make the poison traps at trapping 1 and then go throw them at the little mobs outside of the towns. So i made a bunch, and started throwing them at mobs outside of coronet, 50% of the time they would hit and I'd get xp. But then I noticed that it seemed like my XP monitor wasn't moving at all, and infact it wasn't. I look at my XP, 305, then threw a trap, it hit, and it said that I had recieved 45 points of traping experience. But then I looked at my monitor and it still only said 305 even after the mob was dead. I looked in the skills window and the same thing. Am I doing something wrong? or am I just bugged?

You may be bugged. Log out and log back in - you should see all of the XP return. There's been a bit of an issue with it lately.
