Thread: Fish meat costs and is it worth the time?
What are people selling fish for these days?
Although Volsted's guide is great for attempting to get fish meat fast... the best I can do is about 100 meat per hour. At 100 meat per hour... selling at 20cr/unit that is only 2000 credits an hour which is fairly low. I can make more than that off of missions.
I understand the RP implications by helping out Cooks and Medics but regardless that amount seems fairly low. I can make about 5-6k an hour on missions in general. That would put fish meat at about 50 to 60 cr/unit. That in my opinion is insane for a resource cost. So I guess my second question is...
Is fishing really worth it? I can get herbivore/carnivore/insectivore/avian meat a heck of alot faster than fish meat and by taking missions for these beasties I can make money at the same time I am collecting resources.
I think fishing needs a serious overlook to see if the process isn't simply too slow. Perhaps if they had nets or vessels which you could use to gather more fish faster it would be much more worth the time and effort.

I just noticed a similar post below this one that volsted replied to with some costs... I guess 50cr per unit isn't bad if the fish are good. So I guess the answer to fishing is... fish only when the stats are very good.
Right. The 20cpu I got for the fish I harvested on my Dathomir Fishing Trip a month or two back was low. I would charge much more for that fish meat now, knowing what I know.
Now I would charge 20cpu for grind-quality fish...if I bothered to fish for grind-quality fish, which I don't.
Volsted,
Ditto.
As much as I enjoy fishing, in my personal opinion the time vs. compensation vs. annoyance factor doesn't add up to me doing much of it. ![]()

Icky,
Not yet. It's on my list, and I'm waiting for a response. Getting the vehicle bugs worked out is priority numero uno.
