Thread: Does mask scent still provide Scout XP?
I have read the From Novice to Master Guide above (excellent work, btw) and I have also read other posts. Im a little confused about the /maskscent skill and it providing XP. Does it (today) give scout XP and if so how? By breaking? And if by breaking....is it only red con mobs that break it?
Just a little confused about some contradicting posts.
Thanks in advance!
/maskscent gives you scoutxp when you succesfully EVADE detection. A good place to power through the two trees that use scout xp is the Narglatch cave on naboo outside of Moenia. It happens to be near a server boundary, so you can mask scent, run around on the ground above the cave, get a bunch of xp, run to the SW and cross the server boundary, then repeat. My CH/Rifle character ground out 2 boxes of explore and all of novice CH this way in a really short time (was a couple of months ago, I don't remember exactly how long, but it was all in one day for sure, no more than 6 hours)
Quick,
Many of the old posts you are reading are back before a number of changes came about. Maskscent used to be pretty broken, but now it's working well.
The FNTM guide is accurate and up-to-date. Once vehicles and mounts are in, I'm going to modify it a bit to include those, but in general, it's been unaffected by the last few major updates.
So to directly answer your question, yes - maskscent still provides scout XP.
