Thread: An opportunity for Novice Scouts to make money and keep us special
At the moment there is a discussion regarding the requirement to be ina city, house or camp to call a mount or vehicle.
My feeling is this is a perfect chance to stop people dabbling in scout for the camp ability and at the same time give novice scouts a viable money making method.
If scouts could produce a small campsoley for calling mounts and vehicles thatanyone could use, it would give them an avenue for income. These camps would have no other benefits, such as the healing modifier.
TH wants a solid arguement, if enough scouts support this, it could sway things, esp as money making was an issue that has been raised here before.

Gee, I use my basic camp for this all the time. I pop one, call my pet, and disband it.Make people have novice scout to use a basic camp, they are wasting 15 skill points that could be in a weapons class. Fine by me said the Master Ranger who dislikes sucking chest wounds.
Money making opportunity? Anyone selling basic camps and making money? anyone, anyone, buehler....
This would go over like a lead balloon, as it would put too much power into the hands of one class, us. Yeah, I know only CHs can tame andtrain mounts, but their foil will be anyone Artisan who has engineering IVand is making vehicles.
Sorry to rain on your parade

The money will go to those that are able to harvest large quantities of resources and have access to a factory.
If they do something like this you will see crates of cdef (or whatever) camps sold next to the Bofa treats and Petstims at your local mall.
My first run of basic camps was over 400 camps (25 camps per crate) and I have 30k of leathery hide sitting in a guild store house if more are needed. Not trying to brag, just showing you that the market will be flooded with them in a very short time.
Novice artisans do not make money off of powerups. Master Artisans pump out a few hundred crates at a time and put them in guild storehouses or vendors.

Guys,
We went round and round about this a few months ago when the issue of letting everyone use basic camps came up.
I don't like the idea - it dilutes our skill trees, and we've already gotten an indirect nerf with vehicles and mounts anyway. Another one would be just adding insult to injury.

Look at it from the other direction. If only scouts may drop camps then you are special within a group of adventurers. Sure a lot of people take Scout for the terrain navigation and maskscent, but how many non-Master Scouts or Rangers have Survival... not many. So though your low level camps are still fairly worthless, Improved Camps rock in a group.
Scouts really only havetwo choices to make money... harvesting high level meat/hide orfinding another profession. I find selling resources from harvesters the best because I am making money while not online. So while I am online I can spend the 20 minutes it takes to gather the resources up from the harvesters, going to the bazaar to put them up for sale then spending the rest of my time adventuring. To me this is much better than spending three hours grinding out meat and hide and not getting on with badges, exploring, etc.
Mad,
I understand the point, but when we start talking about crafting things that anyone can use, I start feeling like we'd be usurping on the Artisans.
I'd rather not start fiddling with a system that really isn't broken just because something in the game MIGHT be annoying.
