Thread: Adhesive Trap Ingredients???
Can anyone please tell me what polymer is used to make adhesive traps? An item name would be most helpful. I've looked everywhere for the correct stuff, and I've come up empty....
BTW....Traps are a scout's best friend. Darts have saved my arse many times when being chased 5000m across Dantooine by slinking voritor lizards...What a blast, but I could only laugh after I looted and harvested the beasts....
Its an inert petroleum...names vary by server/planet/resource shift. It will be an inert petroleum and when you examine it, it will say polymer.
Trap is good for xp, lousy for actual hunting. P darts let you kite out of the area much easier, and last longer. Adhesive traps work longer if you don't engage the creature caught in them, and higher levels have a resistance to it.

This is counter to my own experience.
Phecnacine Darts have a fixed timer. They all last the same length of time when they hit.
Adhesive Mesh traps have a variable timer. Some last for only a few seconds. But some last significantly longer than a Phecnacine Dart. I've had some last long enough for me to kill even-con critters with autofire.
Deth,
All of this info is in my From Novice to Master Scout guide, stickied to the top of the forum. Check it out!

Not to hijack the thread, but we did. I agree that the Pdarts are on a timer. But most of the creatures I hunt are affected. Under resistance I see some creatures are 50% plus resistant to ad mesh, so why bother. At best you are 50/50 on a low level creature. Pdarts work, slow the animal, I run up a hill, and that's the end of beastie.
I am reminded of a saying, to paraphrase about Ad mesh... When it works it's very very good, and when it doesn't, Ranger lunch.
Pdarts, glow wire, a hill and I am happy.
