Thread: Does /maskscent allow me to fire at a mob more times while prone?

We all know the dance -

See the mob.

Go prone in range.

Fire a few times.

It runs at you.

Hopefully you killed it by now or you warning/threaten shot it away.

Maybe you just shoot it at point blank range (get up from prone though, hehe)

Last night, I was doing this dance, and I noticed that when my /maskscent was up, that I could fire up to seven times from the prone position at the beginning of the encounter. When /maskscent was down, it seemed more like four times. Is this really what was happening or am I completely off?

It even seemed to work against non-aggressive mobs, as well.

Am I crazy or do Scouts and Rangers get to fire at monsters from the ground more than the rest of us do?

Thanks for any help

It does work like that.

As a Pistoleer, I maskscent, fire healthshots into a critter to start a bleed, maybe a stopping shot for fun, then peace. No aggro.

I move off - about 80 m, and wait for the bleed to start. Most of the time, only the bleeding critter aggros on me, solo, and as he runs in, he gets pdarted and usually dies before reaching me. Been a favorite tactic since I learned it.

Maskscent is one of the few things we have that works.

If you're a rifleman, Mask Scent + Conceal Shot = pwns.

Hehe yea, I started with scout and doing rifles, until about box 3 of rifles then went to pistols. But yes, mask scent has this abiltiy, especially when prone. I used camo in the same way against npc from range.
