Im a Bio-Engineer and a scouton Europe-Farstar, I own a Bio shop selling pets, petstims and Tissues. Bio-tissues need special meat like insect, reptile, wild and domestic meat etc plus they also need milk, eggs, wood and fishfood (not sure on the name but it starts with a M). Im findingthat thesaid meats are priced way over the top, I have bought less than 200units oftop notch meat at 6k before now and eggs going for like 50units at 6k.

I don't have time to go out and scout for my own meats so I buy from the bazzar. This has forced me to rise my prices of petstims and tissues and some customers have gone elsewere, I still make a profit selling my tissues (not that much but I also got overheads to think about) but I ask all scouts and rangers 'I think It is time you lowered all your prices a bit' and I belive in turn things will go cheaper

Ganger,

If you want to blame people, blame the Doctors. They're the ones who are buying up all the good meat at the crazy prices. With buffs going for 10k a set, it's very easy to become rich, very quickly.

The only way to reduce the prices is to reduce the folks willing to buy at those prices. I would suggest that you find some friends who are Rangers and are willing to cut you a deal. Otherwise, you're going to have to raise you prices to keep up.

No offense but you touched on the key issue TIME. You do not feel it is worth your time to go do this yourself, therefor you pay to have some one else do it. My time is worth money because i could be doing other things. The fact that most people dropped scout due to the patch that killed camps. So now you have even fewer people trying to supply a server with hide/meat/bone/milk/eggs Supply and demand my friend, the demand is there and the supply is not. If more people took up scout then maybe the price will come down, but until then my time is worth money. I don't gouge people but I don't work for free either.

If you were to approach me and offer discounts or a freebie - my prices would drop and you in turn would get freebies.

If you were in my guild, my prices are always way low - 20% of normal prices usually.

So what are you doing for me? I could be doing themeparks and running around doing high paying missions, or I can be hunting for you - your call.

I agree completely. when I sell meat and such I go 4cpu at the highest. The prices are INSANE now. And as far as it being "worth someones time" every bit of those resources I sell I was doing a mission, so I got payed regardless. It's not about "worth anyones time to sell it" it's just being greedy. If a scout doesn't do missions and tries to get paid just from resource sales, then well... they're stupid. The upside is that my resources never stayed on bid more than a day.

you may want to consider finding a good guild with scouts and rangers in it. I harvest meat and hide and give it to my guildmates now so they don't have to buy it

Avian meat prices are high for two reasons:

High demand

Low supply

Most avian drops are small, and this contributes to the scarcity of the resource. Harvesting Rori avian is an incredible PITA, for example. So is Tat avian. So the collection of this resource is very labor intensive, and it drops in small quanties, unless your server is fortunate to have a good spawn of avian on Naboo, where good sized critters (like giant peko pekos) drop avian.

If the avian is high OQ, it's going to go for 50cpu. If it's high OQ AND high PE, it's going to command 100cpu. If it's high OQ, high PE, and high DR (the trifecta!) hold on to your hats, the prices are going to go through the roof.

The fact of the matter is, doctors have a LOT of money to toss around. With buffs selling for 10k a set, I can easily net a quarter of a million credits over the period of an hour at the mining outpost on Dantooine. If I purchase a set of buffs for 72k, I easily can cover my costs of materials (to include the bivoli) in one buffing session. and walk away wtih 180k credits in my pocket, which goes back into the pockets of doctor-crafters on my server.

Another issue is that I get my buff packsfor "free", sort of. Actually, I harvest avian and herb meats, turn it over to our crafter doc, and she provides me with stimpacks, buffpacks, and med components for CM ranged and AOE stims. I'm sure a lot of this goes on within PAs, where in kind contributions of resources to master crafters results in you getting things for no upfront credit cost, like pharmaceuticals, armor, and weapons. I go out and skin durnis for wooly hide for the armorsmith, I run a harvester for copper for the weaponsmith, and I bring in loads of avian and herb meats for the crafting doctor. This will distort the economics of the situation a bit.

"If a scout doesn't do missions and tries to get paid just from resource sales, then well... "

You have your ways, others have....others. Personally, I don't focus on missions most times when hunting specifically for harvested goods. I can harvest a LOT more by simply going to an area that has tons of the critter I need and kill till I don't feel like killing anymore. The time it takes to run to each mission, then back to town for more missions is a lot of wasted time not harvesting.

"It's not about "worth anyones time to sell it" it's just being greedy."

That is pure crap. This is a free market economy. The people set the price, if the price is too high the product will not sell. I do not gouge people by any means, but my limited playing time is worth compensation. If they don't want to pay my prices they can either A) Pick up scout and ranger investing the time and skill points, or B) find some one cheaper

You have your business model and I have mine, however I also have my idea of what a Ranger and Scout are and that doesn't include taking missions for resources. It is easy to hunt if you have 100% chance of the critter being there, i like to search and actually hunt. To each there own but don't for one second think i am doing this out of greed

PS I have a master be on my other char and I know for a fact that you can make 1.6mil on 40 crates of BSN's If you buy meat at 20cru that is 400k for the meat and 180k for the floral assuming the normal 3cru for floral, even cheaper if you mine it yourself. So you are looking at 580k investment, you are looking at 1.02mil proffit Greed anyone?

Yesterday a new avian meat spawned on Ahazi, on Corellia.

This stuff is900+ OQ and PE, and 800+ DR.

There are doctors offering 300 cpu for this resource.

Carrion spats, giant carrion spats, gulginaws, and even howling plumed rasps (!) are being hunted to the edge of extinction on Ahazi right now.

Rebuttal to that is i can put junk meat and hide on bazaar for 10 cpu and it won't last a day either.

I have felt a disturbance in the force......

*sits down*

It is as if a thousand people suddenly dropped scout simulatniously.......

well there you have it....once camps were no longer necessary only a select few are capable of harvesting a large amount of resources in a short amount of time. Used to be that no one ever used buffs, but suddenly someone realized you could kick some serious ass while buffed and BOOM docs started raising prices almost instantaniously.

I think a while back some did the caluclations at even at 100cpu - avain meat only constituted 3% of the costs of Buffs. The reason docs charge 10k+ a buff is because people can run one 10k mission quite easily and have plenty of the buff left over for other missions. Missions, loot and all the rest just pay out far too much and hence there is far to much money in the economy.

I'm sorry that you think the meat costs too much but why should we sell it on the cheap when docs get so much profit from the buffs. Similary why should docs charge so little when the "fighters" out there can pay for it with 1 relatively easy mission. The system is screwed from the top.
