Thread: Where are all the good weapons?

I am in the Intrepid server and there are no weapons other than CDEF in the bazaar (galaxy wide search). I don't underestand why there are no good weapons for sale, is no one playing a weapons crafter? It can't be demand, I have plenty of money and will buy several at the first opportunity and I can't be the only one. Are people getting good ones from loot somewhere? Is this just my server or is this the case on other servers?

If you aren't on Intrepid, please post your server name and tell how it is on your server.

Hi. Kazaad of Flurry on Rory, and it's the same here. Hopefully we can get an answer soon. Would love a better weapon.

Thanks.

People are crafting and crafting like mad. The problem is is that in order to use better weapons, pistol for example, you only need pistol I. In order for crafters to make a pistol better than the CDEF they need to go through all 4 skills of Engeneering and then into Weaponsmith. At almost Pistol IV I am still using a CDEF and only now starting to see D18 and Scout pistols on Tarquinis. I have a very well crafted CDEF that does as much as the newer pistols I am rarely seeing on the market. So they will be coming, just give the crafters time to get up there. It is frustrating only being able to kill slightly better than noob stuff with a decent skill, but just be patient, it will come.

Well there is also the fact that the bazaar has a 3k limit on price so if you want something higher quality than 3k can buy then you have to find their vendor.

Same problem here on Eclipse. From time to time I check the Bazaar galaxy wide for weapons...It may be a pain to travel to another planet, but at this point if I can get a laser rifle (or ANYTHING better then CDEF) I would gladly make the trip...

Untill the game is out for a bit and the crafters get their abilites up, the pickings are going to be slim....

Well if there is actually a 3K limit on the asking price for stuff in the bazaar (who's stupid idea is that?), that is going to put a major crimp in buying weapons for quite some time since there is no in-game means of advertising the fact that you can craft better weapons but can't sell them on the bazaar. I imagine this will be better when there is player housing with NPC vendors ala Ultima.

Can anyone verify the 3K limit?

Same problem here, I got lots of credits, but there is nothing worth buying. I guess were gonna have to wait until the weapons smith get up to speed. This goes the same for the armor too, bone armor seems like such a waste.

I managed to buy a dh17 carbine in coronet for 5k. the damage is twice as much as a cdef but the spcial move penalties are very high.

As for the 3k limit its probably there to promote interaction between player so you have to talk to some1. Not such a bad idea.

Even the weapons that novice weaponsmiths make are not better than a CDEF that I can craft. This next week, weaponsmiths will start to get up to speed - learning which ingedients and which experimentation works best to craft a quality upscale weapon. Then you will see a lot of shouts peddling good weapons, but no so many on the bazaar. Once the players, cities, and weaponsmiths are more developed, you will probably want to have a personal gun dealer you can go to, or find out where the best weaponsmiths are located and go there to purchase one.

As far as the Bazaar you have to check it often, I am on Eclipse and I /tell my friends when something good is on there, and when they get there it's gone.

Having a personal weapons dealer is def the smart choice, I just made a CDEF pistolthat is 22-47 and I haven't fully expiremented yet, I know I could build one stronger!

I also had this problem. Just yesterday I saw some Scout pistols being sold, and a couple D18's. I preffered the Scout's stats, fast ROF, and low pool drains for special moves. It a lot more damage then the CDEF. It only just now came out, and all of them by the same crafter. He is, as far as I have seen, the first weaponsmith on Corillia, Bria server. So if anyone on Bria is looking for better weapons, talk to Nedar. He has a house just outside Coronet, and also has a vending machine there to buy from. Or from the Bazzar. Good Quality stuff.

Experimenting with the CDEF weapons can really pay off. You can't use your generic crafting station but have to make a Weapons Crafting Tool and then be close to one of the Weapons Crafting Stations in town. As you go through the assembly you'll have the option to experiment. Depending on your level you may not get many points to play with but even with just one there's a random element that can let you make a weapons as good as anything a Master Weapon SMith can make.

When I first discovered this feature i was playing around and actually made a 27 - 58 damage CDEF pistol. I didn't realize how good that was for CDEF and gave it to another player who plannned to specialize as Pistoleer and still had his pirate gun from the tutorial. Been trying to make a rifle that good ever since and haven't even got close.

In any case if you pick up artisan and have been surveying for the materials you use it wouldn't hurt someday to spend a little time experimenting to get a better rifle. At least until high level artisans get off the exp grind and can settle in and do a little tinkering of their own.
