I don't think that's precisely true. What I think is, that your xp caps (for *any* skill), at 2X the amount required for your current skill level. As an example, I have hit a cap of 1000 on general crafting xp, but I haven't bothered to learn any crafting skills (other than survey...which has it's own xp pool). Level one crafting skills cost 500 xp. 500 X 2 = 1000xp = max xp. In your case, you hit 15000 (which is what it costs for hunting IV) X 2, so you got stopped up at 30,000.
It would really suck if the cap's at 30K, since the high end ranger skills cost 40K in scout xp.

What I have noticed is the XP cap is 2x your highest requirement, if you require the same type of XP for different tree branches. For example if I train Hunting all the way up to Hunting IV and I leave Exploration at II my XP cap is 30K not 20K Though if I have Hunting II and Exploration II my exp cap is 20K.

Just to let you guys know the most unused scout XP you can have at 1 time is 30,000. I was trying to get Hunt IV and CH in 1 shot but I hit the cap. Bewarned all you /maskscenters

Good to know info Sugah. I was doing the same thing. Would suck to be out in a good group and then get stuck not making any scout experience.
