Does their skill at harvesting directly correlate to yours? And do you get exp if they do the harvesting?

Yes you get xp
Yes it relates to your ability
Right now theres an issue with it not getting the bonus when grouped with a scout and ranger

There's a new issue with harvesting droids.

Mine isn't working any more. I set its interest, it scampers over to the dead critter, and nothing happens, other than the creature is "harvested" but the harvest never shows up in my inventory.

I'd submit a /bug report if I had any confidence that they're not automatically routed to /dev/null, but there isn't the slightest evidence that submitting a /bug does any good.

My patience with the band of incompetents running this game is wearing very thin.

Before anyone screams at me for not reporting the bugs with the harvestor droids - I did report the group bug, altho I don't think it's a bug. And the damn things could shoot lazer beams outta their eyes for all I know, I don't and won't use one.

History - Group nerf for harvesting way back when - included pets and droids as part of a group. People screamed. People hollered. People whined. I said well, it's only fair, solo is one, two is a group, and pets and droids make two. People yelled at me. Then popular opinion took over and the Devs said Okie Dokie, droids and pets do not count as a group member for harvesting purposes.

Theory - Because they don't count as group members, and technically are invisible to the old nerf, the new rates don't affect them either. The coding has been set to ignore pets/droids as group members. Does this make sense?

Fact - Harvest droids are one trick ponies. Don't waste your money.

Nope, all harvesting modules, been using it since the great Droid Invasion. I suspect it was a transitory bug, because I used it yesterday normally (go out and skin the durnis, Harvey. That's a good droid. Pay no attention to that mottled wrix there...)

well, they are basically one trick ponies. the one tick is that i can just hit one button assigned to the harvest command, and harvest creatures while im in combat. i have not noticed any harvesting bonus, though it does say that there is a harvesting bonus of 6 when i examine the droid. Other then that, i keep him aroun cuz hes good company.

That's why. You need to have a MUCH higher bonus number. That number might be usefull for a novice only Scout if that. My 3 harvest module probot on starsider has a bonus of about 55, I outgrew that around the time I hit scout x/x/4/x after that I could harvest as much as the droid. I also have "high end" harvest droids with 88 and 90something ratings, one on Bria and one on Starsider. That should last me for a while into Ranger if I'm not grouped, with the new Master Ranger bonus I'd likely need one of the very high end 100+ rating droid if they would even be able to compete with the new Master bonus. Of course, if you're in a group with other scouts/rangers don't bother with the droid anymore.

If my droid seems to harvest nothing, I examine the kill and if it takes several seconds for the examine window to pop, then I know the droid will not harvest anything. Seems to be a zone that confuses the droid, so Iend up doinga manual harvest.

Another thing that I have notice is the droid returning before he gets to the kill for harvesting. Sometimes he just starts to move then stops, or he'll get half way there and returns. Have to keep hitting my harvesting button (macro i setup on my toolbar) to get him to complete the harvest. Then I finally notice that it seems to only happen when I have my pet out. So I have started to pay a little more attention and discovered that when I issue my formation command to my pet ( which is the same command for my droid's formation ) he starts he little stunt of returning before he harvest. Changed the formation command on my droid and haven't had a problem since. Haven't tried to use the droid's formation command to see if acts up since I don't have a problem of him standing on top of me and blocking my view like my pets do.
