Grainding last night on Dathomir, and came across an Ancient Bull Rancor. Never fought one before, so I took him out. As soon as I killed him, system told me I gained 5,000 unarmed XP, 500 combat XP, and lost 10,000 scout XP.

How come I lost 10,000 scouting XP? Any thoughts? Thanks for any replies.

Is there a chance you recently dropped some / many scout skills? I seem to recall when I dropped down from having 4000 medic to 1000 medic, the next time I healed myself I actually lost XP since I think I was over the XP cap for 1000 medic... but that was a loooooooong time ago, and it's quite possible I'm remembering incorrectly.

Exactly, after dropping a skill the next time you gain that sort of XP, you will loose all XP above your new point cap.

This was a nasty surprise a long time ago when after dropping musician and entertainer I decided to get them back, I trained in novice and instead of training up, I let nostalgia get the better of me and pulled out my slitherhorn and hit a flourish. Boom I get a system message stating that I had lost 899,000 music XP.Needless to say I was double plus unhappy.

Don't feel too bad Caliet, in my experience you loose it when you train too. I had dropped pistols after being a bh for a while, and figured I'd train up again into pistoleer, needless to say with 600K pistol xp banked, I only made it to pistol 3 in marksman =(
