Thread: Is there a market for grind quality organics in the day of uber crafters?

I've been doing lots of missions and killing random lairson Endor, lately. I'm trying to grind some of the Force Sensetive boxes. This planet is perfect for lots of experience quickly.

I dropped Novice Scout, long long ago. With all of the creatures I've been killing, I think I could harvest a lot of resources. The problem is that I don't really want to hunt down the good stuff. I just want to sell off the grind quality things I harvest while running missions and killing random lairs.

Is there a market for this? Can someone with just Novice Scout make a buck selling large quantities of any old organic?

If I remember correctly, Tailors and Bio-Engineers need generic organics for certain things. Maybe I could aim at them?

Any help is appreciated

Depending on your server, there may be a merchant who is willing to buy any meat for a set price, regardless of stats.

I have one on my server. Hey, I am out there killing and harvesting anyhow, may as well make a few bucks doing it. 10cpu for herbie regardless of stats, 3 cpu for anything else. No, he doesn't get the good stuff, unless he posts a sign stating that he will be paying comparable prices to the docs (and he usually does), but he does get my day to day harvests.

A trip to Endor and 4 10k missions usually results in my getting upwards of 2k of herbie ((Gleaming Lantern Birds). Thats another 20k on top of the 40k I make on mission pay.

Search around. See if someone is willing to pay relatively low prices for meat or hide, it's all profit for you.

Architects have some need for wooly and leathery hide, I believe ... and quality doesn't matter there.

I used wooly for composite, and Endor is great for wooly! Personally I had great inorganic resources, and I regularly used 1200ish wooly for mass production (always helped me offer the best prices!) It still came out to 80% low-ham kinetic. I could have probably dropped as low as 1000ish wooly and still done just fine on the mass produced stuff. Prices would, of course,be dependant on the server economy and what the buyer needs. I'm sure there'll always be a market for large stacks of organics, irrespective of quality.

Architects need all kinds of hides, they need some planet hides for master stuff. Dath leather was one, check swgcraft. Give the tailor schems a pass while you are there. If the OQ + SR on wooly is above 1600 its comp grade. Stock it up for the CU (they fixed post CU armor back to OQ+SR from the OQ +UT it was going to be cause the ASs freaked). Good armor hide is going to be worth... I don't even want to think about it. There will be all kinds of hide that is viable for armor post CU so you might want to look at the new stuff on the AS forums.

Bone armor is the fastest way to fly through artisan. But takes way to much stuff for most. Won't be an artisan item post CU.

Any Creature Resource I put on the bazaar is gone in hours.

i say toolkits and then Harvesters is the quickest way to go through artisan. but that might have changed since i last mastered it (ohhhhh......8 months ago? *wince*)

LOL, I just mastered it again on an alt for the heck of it. Tools then harvies, yup. Then speeders if you're going for the novice boxes above.

Getting back to the Scout topic tho, yup, there's a market for grind grade stuff and it'll be there as long as there are novice arties, tailors, chefs, archies, etc.

When I'm working through scout on a new toon I keep some hides for traps and camps. The rest, as soon as I have a 1k stack, I bang on the bazaar for a couple of cpu. As was said, you're gathering it anyway so its all 'profit'.

Remember also that for every 'uber' crafter that's out there there are what, ten? twenty? novice level arties looking for something to use to make stuff from. They haven't got the big bucks yet, or the experimentation points so 'uber' resources are wasted on them. Likewise medics grinding stims, etc. (though that may be changing a little)

lol i know how that feels- when i was a noob i wanted to do scout because it seemed fun. Then i dropped it for other stuff, and now i've been grinding pickets on dantooine, and a butt load of squills on tat. I've probably killed 1000's of the critters, which means 100,000's of units of meat, wich could mean millions of credits lol! But nope, didn't do it. Seeing this post though; i might start(still have quite a few boxes in pistoleer to go yet)

I manage to sell all of my organics on Sunrunner. I remember being willing to buy any amount of meat while grinding through BE. Normally wanted larger stacks but I would always settle for smaller ones if my wallet wasn't willing at the time.

Most memorable SWG quotes:
"You lookin fer summat?"
"Get on board the falcon kid. This place is gonna blow." (How can you forget something you've heard over 100 times in a row?)
