Thread: Creature Handler: Exploration vs Hunting
Is there an advantage when trying to get to CH in going up hunting or exploration? Or should you just do both?

Well, you HAVE to do both (wasn't sure if you thought you could get away with one or the other).
General consensus has been that Explore is a better first branch because it offers /maskscent as an additonal way to get Scouting exp.
Now that /maskscent is on a timer, that is less effective, but it's STILL an additional method.
Hunting gives more hides on higher level creatures. This is based on tests last night with myself, as Master Scout, and a friend who has Hunting I -- skinning the same types of bigger creatures I got about 25% more hides -- on lower creatures that you'd solo there was no noticeable difference. I'd say stick to blue/white creatures when you solo though, so hunting won't do too much for you as far as exp gain. (though now that I think about it, I totally forgot to ask him how much exp he got for skinning.. it might have been less than I got. Bah!)
Thanks for the response.
My question was, should I go up one before the other. Is one easier to get than the other?

#1. It gives you a boost in terain anvigation so those big mountains and cliffs don't slow you down on the way to missions, hunting, etc...
#2. While the maskscent timer is a bit annoying, it does still work. This gives you a little boost to scouting xp as you work your way up to Hunting IV
#3. Explorer is just a cool title!
