Thread: Hide and bone prices -- what do YOU charge?
So I'm curious, how much are you all charging per unit -- and what server do you play on?
Also, do you charge different amounts for different types? If so, what are you charging for what types?
Usually 1 to 4cr/unitfor meat, 3 to 5 cr/unit for bone and hide
I have seen bone and hide go for higher, but I also see it sit for a while too.
Lutos,
I didn't really have much of an idea on this when I put my first collection of hide and bones out there to be sold.
The going rate on Naboo appears to be 500 credits for a 300 sized container of hide.
I made the mistake of just assuming that since there are tons of scouts out there, and hide is not difficult to come by, that it would be relatively cheap. So my first sale was a container of 1900 Leathery Hides, which I sold for 1750!
Needless to say, that was snapped up pretty quick and I made some medic or artisan out there a happy guy.
Brisc
50 bones = 520c
100 hides = 1020c
etc, etc...
They may sit for a while, but I have yet to have any not sell. As I find higher quality I may inflate that price, but for now it doesn't matter to me. I have had a few medics and artisans tell me the larger the quantity posted, the better... and that they would buy it at 10c per item without a second thought.
100 hides/bones = 1500cr
150 hides/bones = 2000cr
200 hides/bones = 2500cr
250-300 hides/bones = 3000cr
I know a lot of people might flame this saying prices are too high. But this is a capitalist economy, and as long as I keep selling the resources as fast as I can get them there is no reason to lower the prices
.
I am on Bria, and have sold stacks of both hide and bone for 200 creds for a stack of 100. I have seen the same be sold for more, but for me that's enough, I'm making 180 on it, and it usually sells within a day.
As far worring about the economy, I wouldn't worry about it. The economy in this game is built by the players. If you want to sell your hides for 1 cred per, that's fine. Many others will be selling for much more, and that's fine. You will sell yours faster, but you also wont be able to keep up with demand. That's how economy works. I also reside on Corillia, so I don't know what the supply/demand thing is on other planets.

I've started charging according to resources' Overall Quality rating - and it seems to be working well for me. I basically charge 1% of the OQ per unit right now (though I'm considering changing it to 1.5-2%, depending on scarcity), so hide with OQ of 450 gets sold at 4.5c/unit, and hide with OQ of 750 gets sold for 7.5c/unit. Seems reasonable to me that higher quality items should get a premium, and lower quality gets a markdown.

Just examine the lot from your inventory- there are a lot of sub-categories of quality (malleability, cold resistance, etc.), but the Overall Quality should be listed there.
The ratings also show in the Sell window, scroll down from the picture that pops up in the bottom right frame.
I heard that bone and hide where going for 4-5cr/unit. So i sell mine for 3cr/unit. Mine will sell usually within a few hours. I can make an easy 450-500cr a pop. Im not hurting the economy though because thats not all i do is harvest. I only put what i have up for sale when i have an abundance of it.
As for stacking the hides, correct me if im wrong but hides taken from lets say a Butterfly cannot be stacked with hides taken from a durni. You can only stack hides that are from the same creature. I could be wrong though.
You guys are getting ripped off. Do not sell us short.
I've been selling hides/bones for 7-8 per. Meat for about 4-5.
Scouts.... they NEED these items to make THEIR items, and trust me, they're not selling their stuff for nothing.
And always try to get a container of 100 or more. Don't try to sell 13 hides. Just keep the little bits for making traps/camp kits.

Almost - the real test is whether their properties are identical (just examine them in inventory). I've seen situations where one group of durnis gave different quality hides than another (I'm guessing this was patch-related, since the old hides were already in inventory, and the new hides didn't stack). So if animals give the same quality and type of hide, they should stack.
