Mask Scent is being discussed on Eclipse at the moment and this point just came up.

Does moving slower towards aggresive mobs increase your chance at avoiding detection with MaskScent running?

There has been much debate on this in the past but I can't find any definitive info. There are hints in the manual that would suggest this is true but I am looking for a concrete yes or no.

Has anyone got a link to a DEV answer on this?

If not hopefully a DEV will see this and maybe give us an answer.

Anyway, if someone has concrete info, please post here. Much appreciated.

I run everywhere and running doesnt seem to matter its all a chance thing. I have seen no increase in getting revealed when running

I'm usually running when I'm look at radar and am like "oh crud reds, mask scent time" I don't bother to slow down. sometimes I get it sometimes I dont.

Yellows play a bigger factor. If there are any yellows closer than 80m they'll see you instantly. This part stinks. Where you should get no exp from yellows, the devs made them spot you automatically.

I've gained my last 25k scouting xp just using mask scent running by mobs on Lok. Running and walking doesn't really seem to make a difference, neither does going prone. The best way to do it is try to skirt the nest and when you see question marks pop up over the mobs stop in place, wait a few seconds and then start running again. Walking may have a slight advantage, but only probly 5% from my experience, however the longer your in the area of aggressive mobs the higher your chances of being discovered. Toggling mask scent helps a ton too, if you hit the button again mask goes down and there is no wait time to reapply.
