Thread: Possible Suggestion for Maskscent...
I am now a Novice Ranger, I earned 95% of my scouting exp from harvesting corpses. But I do feel that /maskscent isn't as usuable as it should be. I understand the reasons for the delay, and I understand that the suggestions thus far have been far from optimal.
Previous Suggestion One: Remove all exp from maskscent and drop the delay
The problem with that suggestion is that there really should be a way to earn exp other than harvesting.
Previous Suggestion Two: Keep the Exp and lower the delay to something more reasonable.
A valid suggestion that I've started as the base for my proposed solution.
Let's take Suggestion Two and make it a little better. First I think the delay and and ability to maskscent should relate directly to the level of ones Camoflage skill. Ifyour Camoflage skill is 0, then the delay should be50 secs. Meaning that it would work exactly like the current system for all new scouts.(Race bonus could lower this). As you gain additional camoflage skill, the delay on maskscent should decrease. Much like Diagnostics helps to decrease wait time for medics. So I have a Camoflage skill of 15 my wait would be 30 secs between maskscents. I work my way up through Exploration and managed to get a Camo of 30, now my Maskscent delay is 15. And so on...
This keeps people from exploiting maskscent exp for tweaking through Scout levels, but still rewards people who advance through the ranks. Maskscent become more and more usuable the higher you go.
Anyone else who thinks this might be a good direction, please respond to the thread so we can get some Developer attention.
