Thread: Who uses bones?

Total n00b question here.

I've decided that I think it's more fun and personal to sell my hides to a particular tailor than shoveling them impersonally onto the bazaar. A little because it's a surefire way to sell them, but mostly because it makes the tailor's day when I have a huge collection from the last day or two worth of hunting.

That being said, I have no idea which profession uses bones, so I have a collection of a couple thousand bones sitting around in my safety deposit box. Does anybody know who I should be giving those to?

Thanks,

Armorsmiths

Ask your tailor friend, I'm sure they know someone who would need them. Tailors and Armorsmiths are closely tied together in this game (like most).

Make sure you save some for yourself!!! Camps and Traps can chew them up if you use them a lot.
On the subject of Camps, does anyone know the schematics (materials list) for the Improved Camp and the Ranger series of camps?

Medics.

Medics need organics to make stimpacks, if you find yourself in a surplus of bones, I am sure they will take some off your hand.

If you plan on advancing at all in scout you need to hoard them for yourself. You need them for camps and traps. The improved camps need 4 units of bone and 8 units of hide.

I keep all bones and hides and sell any meat that I get. I don't want to get caught low in the middle of a hunt without any supplies for traps and camps.

Hmm...I sell any bones and hides I have in quantities of 50 + on the Bazaar, although I'm working on some supply contracts. I almost always have a few stacks of hide and bones under 50 units that I make traps and camps from, so I don't understand the hording mentality....how do you run out of hides and bones on a hunt? When you're getting low, harvest a few animals to refresh supplies.

I only use camps mainly to heal wound damage when it gets around 20-30 points or so (I solo a lot). If I just need to heal up a bit, I sit down and craft traps for a few minutes. Be sure and remove your armor if you're trying to heal up.

From what I can tell, many items require organics. But your tailors and Novice Artisans and such will be your best buyers.

Thanks for the replies. Usually I keep 100 of my common resources (corellian leather, bones, iron) in my inventory. Then, I have a pack I throw all my unused extra resources into so my inventory isn't cluttered, and every once in a while (say I'm sitting in a camp) I'll take all the extra hides and bones and dump them into this pack. I have never, ever, ever had to dig into my 100-buffer. I am a pretty well rounded scout, so I am definitely using my fair share of traps and camps, but if you go through a lair or two of vrelts or paralopes or something, you can get a hundred more bones and hides, and you've probably only used 20 or so hides/bones worth of traps/camps. And if I try to take on something harder, I may go through more traps, but I get more hides and/or bones in return (so my net return for any kind of animal is always positive).

I'll give some armorsmiths a shout and see if they want any of my junk

Novice Artisians need the bones (and hides) for bone armor.
