I have discovered that the threaten and warning shots I got for Ranged Support work very well on animals. I took out a nest of white mobs and the lair by myself. I only got incaped once while trying to experiment. It seems nearly all animals will run from you when you use warning shot against them.

Here is what I was doing. Got to about the max range for my weapon.Go prone, and used take cover, but not needed if you dont have it. I hit aim once or twice, and do body shot, use head shot of rifles. Keep shooting at them until they turn towards you. Then you stand up, throw your traps. I was using glow juice and noise maker. After the trap use /warningshot. The animal will run from you. At this point shoot off a couple more head or body shots. At this point it will run back to you and use warning shot again. Repeat until its dead. Remember, to watch for when your traps wear off, so you can throw them again. It's slow to take down higher mobs like this, but it does work, you get great trapping and pistal, combat, and scouting xp(if you harvest).

Sure, I do that. Good stuff. Traps have to be within 40 meters though, keep that in mind.

Now that I'm a pistol specialist and have ranged support 3 I haver been doing the same to great results! It's even better when you have healthshot, because after a warningshot I just hit peace and they run 100m away and bleed to death!

I have solo'd a yellow con lair with these tactics. I'm starting to feel like the powerful hunter I should be!

by the way once you are at the spot you want hit maskscent, I know yellows don't give xp but they do seem to take longer to find you. I've used maskscent and cover and some mobs never even charge me.

Lovin' it!

Isn't AIM continuos until fight is over?

I don't believe you have to hit it more then once and it last whole fight.

No, aim is a one shot deal it just aims your next shot. thats it, you will notice that when you hit aim the ranged penalty number goes up quite a bit untill you take the shot and it jumps back up.

actually to use it on every shot during a fight you would have to use,

/aim
/bodyshot2
/aim
/bodyshot2
/aim
/bodyshot2
etc...

or of course you could use your hotkeys.

Quick question for you! Could I run up to a mob of something *large*, say bull rontos on tatooine... maskscent, takecover, then target one of them, health shot it with my pistol so it bleeds, then warning shot it, click peace and it will bleed to death!?!

Then I could harvest it for like well over 200xp. Would this work? Or does warning shot only work on the little sutff?

In conjunction with this question, when the beastie dies from the bleeding, do you get the full weapon xp from it? Or do you only get the xp for the one shot you did?

Traps have to be within 50 meters ( range <= 49 meters ) to be exact.

Threaten shot is a lower form of warning shot.
