Thread: noob question about traps.

I've maxed out all 3 skills under scout yet I only have a few trapping points. My problem is locating traps. I clean out the auctions and then fly all over to pick them up but it's very slow and the traps are slow to restock.
Isn't there a way to make my own traps? Do I need a crafting kit or something? I don't have one in my inventory. If I need to find a crafting kit what is it called and where can I get one?
I'm on Radiant if that matters. Thanks.

Get a Weapons/General tool. This is how you make traps. Its simple and you dont need to be at a crafting station. Plus quality of materials doesnt matter there all the same.

yup , get yourself several general crafting tools or weapon crafting tools ( should be cheap dont worry about the quality of the tool). i usually place them in my tool bar and use the hotkeys to activate them. the list of traps that you can make will appear under the misc list

I did an all planet search on the bazzar for one of these crafting tools and couldn't find any. Can you please tell me where to locate one? Thanks.

Any artisan can make them. 
If you press ctrl-P and click on the Search tab you can search for people around you. Anyone with an Artisan or elite artisan tag should be able to make you one - just ask politely or send them an email.

The tools should be on the terminals. In fact any new artisans will have them. If you see anyone with an artisan tab (architect/Weaponsmith/Armorsmith/Tailor/Artisan ect) ask how much 3 Weapon tools would cost. Tell them quality doesnt matter.
Otherwise the search you can do on the bazaar i think would be "crafting tool" or "weapon tool".

Do you still have your general crafting tool you get when starting out? You can make traps with those.
