Thread: Are you having issues with maskscent? Please post your experiences!
An issue we have been hearing about and experiencing lately is maskscent. Please post any issues or experiences you have had with maskscent here or preferably in the Scout Bug List to keep it all consolidated.
For reference include the following info if you can:
- What is your combat level?
- What level of exploration do you have/what is your maskscent mod?
- Were you wearing any clothing or attachments that bumped up your maskscent ability?
- If you are having problems with maskscent breaking too frequently what was the combat level of the creatures who broke it? What was their con color?
(If you cannot remember - don't worry. Just post what you can.)

Testing done with Mask Scent. Same situation and tactics as above.
My trap droid / CL 80 grouped friend / Mask Scent results, otherwise known as "Worst Second Ever."
I will never get that Bolotaur now.

I am a lvl80 char and when i am on lets say yavin4 or dathmoir. I can ride around and i drive by a agro creature but its grey mask scent will break instantly and i will get instant agro from that creature. If i am just riding around without mask scent i dont have any problems with agroing.
Like today i went to get the badges for woolamander and blue leaf temple. I set mask scent and i got within 30m or less and the woolamanders agroed instantly they ranged any where from lvl74 to lvl77, but when i went in none masked scent i didnt get one agro. Same thing happened at blue leaf temple. So i just stopped useing mask scent after seeing this bug today.

This is the problem currently being experienced with maskscent in a little more detail than was available in my bug thread.
Pre-CU maskscent would give you a chance to not be attacked by aggressive creatures. The higher your maskscent mod, the more successful you were at staying masked against high difficulty creatures. If maskscent was broken there was a certain amount of time you had to wait in order to use maskscent again. During this time you could often stand very still and there was a chance that whatever creature had broken maskscent would not aggro you. If you could reapply maskscent before it "checked" for your presence again you had a second chance to try and slip by the creature.
Post-CU several things have changed having to do with maskscent, and they do not seem to be intended.
- Creatures now instantly attack when maskscent is broken.
- Gray con creatures still have the ability to break maskscent, even though they are no longer technically considered aggresive. Since normally grey-cons will not attack you, but they WILL attack you if they break maskscent, it is often better to not use maskscent at all - you get attacked less.
- Range of maskscent?
- Is it being broken by non-aggresive creatures (besides gray)?

Actually Master Ranger so Mask Scent modifier +100
