To answer my own post.... swgcreatues.com has a nice way to search as long as you use advanced search. The sort by planet option doesn't seem to work. My guess is that thunes are the largest dant. wooly hide providers based on CL.

They are but there is a small issue with that. Hostile Thune Mothers are still broken and dont drop any harvestable materials.
Thunes as a whole would be a good way. Or get yourself up to an 80ish level huurton mission and get it off of them.

Yes, high level mission lairs actually drop the most. And you can pick any lair that has creatures that give wooly. I get an average of around 600 per creature with my main who is a trandoshan'tracker' (0040 ranger).
The way to do this is take missions but also kill any huurton and thunes (the non bugged) along the way.
Thisadds upfast solo but with a good group it goes a lot faster because the creatures per lairs increase based on the size of the group.

To get a group to do it, all you have to do is convince them they want to fight aggro creatures. Oh well, at least it's not Yavin Scaley, dropped only by aggro RANGED creatures...

A balanced group that works as a team will chew up creatures like crazy!
All you need is a good tank (TK with a COB macro), a master doctor and some good damage dealers (rifle or swordsman). Having people who can root or snare (like scouts with traps) are handy too if the damage dealers are ranged. And having one player who 'pulls' creatures is a must so you can all focus on one creature.
If you use the right specials then the creatures don't last long enough to do much damage. Some usefull skillsare the swordsman 'break armor' in combination with heavy damage attacks like the swordsman 'critical attack' or heavy rifle attacks. Roots and snares (like scout traps) are also handy to keep attackers away when the puller gets more than one creature.
In order to keep the creatures away from the ranged damage dealerss or the healers you should make use of knockdowns and taunts when needed. Pikeman have a handy sweep attack thatknocks downall creatures in melee range. Very handy for a quick retreat of ranged players who are in trouble.
I've been playing with a Master Doctor / Swordswomanand a TKM / Tracker combination. That twoperson team killed level 78-81 creatures with great ease. The TKM as punch-bag and the swordswoman/doctor as healer and heavy damage dealer.
Ranged creatureswere not easy though. The best optionwas to pull one from long range (a trap at 45 meters), hopethat only one aggroedand then run away until it (or they)wassome distance from the lair. And then rush in for the kill.
(Melee players may not do wellin PvP or PvNPC but they excell at killing non-ranged creatures.)
