Thread: Fishing on Kashyyyk?

I've tried to fish on Kashyyyk in a couple of places... Dead Forest and the Etyyy Hunting Grounds.
What I get when I try is nothing. Line goes out, bobber bobs in the water, but no fish density. No vegetation meter. No fishing events at all, no options to "tug left, tug right," etc.
Did I just hit a bad spot? Or is it actually not possible to fish on Kashyyyk?

I have yet to find fish on wookie world. (OT: I really need to make a wookie alt named Wally Wook and place him in an AFK macro at the entrance to Wookie World.)

I believe I saw somewhere in a Dev's discussion thread that fishing was not intended on Kash. I may have been imagining this...but I too have tried different spots and noticed zero fish density.

I don't have the expansion, but given how Kashyyyk has been portrayed in the EU, I wouldn't want to fish there. Probably get taken right off the dock -- *CHOMP* -- in one bite, just like in those old Tom & Jerry cartoons.

I tried fishing on Kashyyyk last night. The line goes out and I get the interface for fishing and can in fact "tug left" or "small reel in". However, the fish and vegetation densities are blank and the status is always "waiting".
You can however successfully use a shellfish harvesting tool though nothing new or interesting is harvested, just regular shellfish.
