Getting them seems to be tough for some folks, while others have multiple sets already.

Last night, I killed some 200+ thugs, evil hermits, etc. and didn't get one disk. Got 6 drops total out of 2-3hrs of NPC killing....frankly it was a little disappointing.

On the other hand, one of the guys I run into pretty frenquently in the back-lands of Corellia had just put together his 3rd set in about 1hr of playing last night.

Thus far,am pretty disappointed in the depth of the monthly 'storyline'.....hopefully it will improve beyond 'go kill stuff..g'luck to ya'.

Guys,

Here's the skinny.

There are two sets of disks - Imp and Rebel.

The disks are called "Encoded <Imp/Reb> Transmission>". BE CAREFUL. There are a lot of asses out there trying to sell the old disks (those are called "<X> Transmission>" and passing them off as the Cries of Alderaan disks. (Yes, old Briscy fell for one). You can tell if they're real by reading the notes on the disks. It'll say "Project Dead Eye" in the description.

Once you get all 4 of whichever side, you click on "assemble". It'll put all the parts together and then you get the "code". Then you take the disks to your faction's recruiter. Open your pack and drag the disks onto the recruiter. You'll get 500 faction, some dough and the badge.

The drops are RARE. I killed 3500 faction points worth of Rebs over the last two or three days and I've gotten TWO disks. That's it.I ended up buying the other three that I needed (well, 4 if you count the scammer) to get the badge. You get the drops from NPCs from killing them. Doesn't have to be any specific NPC - any that you kill and loot could have the disks on 'em.

Hope that clears it up for ya'll.

Ah thanks guys. Sounds like I should be doing some more rebel missions then I already am. And definately taking down any agro NPC's in the wild.

I was hoping this whole story/act 1 thing would be more like new/special NPC you have to stumble across and do speciall faction based missions for. Like maybe 2-3 NPC per planet for each side? That would be cool.

Yes, Im refering to the ones that are part of the GCW storyline. The ones you are supposed to collect and decode and turn in for faction pts.

I have posted this on the GCW forum but it was burried on page 2 in about 5min. All they care about whining about ATST's. I am a wandering scout/ranger currently on Tatooine. I love being part of the GCW, and am affiliated with the Rebels. So far I have come across anything regarding these data discs. Does anyone have any info on finding these. I was told they are gotten from NPC. But does that mean, you kill one and loot it, or an NPC mission? Are there new NPCs out there for these that give missions? Are there certain types of NPCs out there I should keep an eye out for and tald to/attack?

I'm willing to go anywhere on planet, and have been all over Tatooine, but haven't found even a clue. All I see are these people selling disks for insane amounts of money.

I've found one of the discs doing rebel missions on Rori. From what I understand, kill 'evil' NPC's to find the dics - from that, I understand it to be any humanoid NPC that's aggressive to your faction type. Believe mine was looted off a rodian thug. Good luck!

They are just random, rare drops from NPCs. I got one from a Jabba Thief in Tatooine the other day. I Believe it was a rebel disc.

Funny thing is, I've had one of these disc's for more than a month now. When I compare the early disc to the Alderaan discs, the text is completely different. I wonder what the original disc was for...
