Delta (or Brisc... whichever you prefer),

Remember way back when I said that I did not want to go the Ranger route? I'm going to take that back. After reading about the proposed changes, I've decided to give it a go. The galaxy can never have enough Rangers. Keep fighting the good fight, man.

Me too Bomber. Except that the reason I went with Ranger is that I'm a self-admitted conformist. I couldn't take Delta's constant redicule. It hurt me. hehe, j/k

Honestly, I can't decide what to drop now. I have to drop something though. Probably going to drop Pistoleer so I can get Master CH/Ranger. Why? Because that'll really aggrevate Delta.

Of course, I'm waiting for that Ranger guide fromDelta. It would be good to know what I have to look forward to.

Xy,

I've already decided that I'm going to hide out in my office tomorrow for an hour or two and write it up.

I started on it, but I was tired and the typos were just flying left and right.

Some of my suggestions are going to be things you've already seen me suggest, and unfortunately, it's going to be a bit biased towards riflemen (but I'll ask Daria a lot of pistoleer questions. ).

I have gone the same route, sort of. Ever since they annonced Scout and Ranger professions I have wanted to make that path. But shortly before making master scout, and reading the Ranger boards, I wasn't sure I wanted to go Ranger.

Then I read the things they are going to be working on for Rangers, and things they are going to be adding, I was totally sold on Ranger again. Those things they want to put into Ranger, are just the sort of things I orginally wanted it for.

And Delta, you'll be happy to know, I have started working on my rifle again. I picked up Pistoleer, but a new Laser rifle got me working on that. I plan to get novice rifleman, and after some time, decide which I will keep, pistoleer or rifleman.

I'm coming to a crossroad and am going to have to make a decision soon. I have Pistoleer 0/0/4/1, Ranger 4/0/4/1, and CH 3/3/1/4.

I have artisan that i'm not pursuing, it was just a way to pass time while camping. I do miss survey 4 tho. Had to give that up to get some other stuff. I also have Marksman 0/4/0/3.

I'm going to have to decide if i want to try to master anything but scout OR just kind of stick with what I have and take what I think is best. Right now I'm leaning just sticking with what I have now. I only have 3 or 4 boxes left that I can give up (surveying 1-3 [9 points], and novice artisan [15 points]) That's 24 points I can use towards other things and I really only use artisan to find some good stuff and set a harvester on it so I can have some to sell. I doubt I'll take the camping or trapping lines in Ranger as neither one really interests me. I only camp when I have to and I only trap for something different.

The Pistoleer line that uses combat xp is mostly pointless now after you get pistol melee defense1. Getting master CH is so beyond pointless it can't even be put into words.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

I have never strayed ftom the true and pure path!! Since the day I first logged in I wanted Master Ranger nerfed, smurfed, whatever. As of last night I stand at 3/3/3/4 on the Ranger tree. Still a long way to go, but since the trip has been so much fun so far I don't mind at all.

Well... I finally took the plunge and trained Novice Ranger last night.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had already qualified for Advanced Trapping 2. I am also nearly done with Frontiering 1. Looking forward to plowing through the tree this weekend as best as possible. I'm thinking that I'll go through Field Bioscience before Wayfaring.

I've always played rangers/archers in every game I was in( UO,AC,EQ,DAoC,even in NWN).Always loved the image I guess. We've never been considered "uber" or worthwhile except by other ranger types, and I always kind of liked that.Sets us as a breed apart, and you can see that from looking at our posts as compared to other boards. You don't see a whole lot of whining on the scout and ranger boards.

I love the tweaks scouts are getting ,and the major improvements rangers have to look forward to.

All my indecision is what to do with the left over points after I finally get to Master Ranger? For now I plan on going carbineer and getting novice medic, but it seems like everyone is either going with pistol or rifle.I can even see how having novice CH might be fun from a rp standpoint (having an animal companion to follow you around could be cool,it's a fun feature in NWN).

Ah well, plenty of time to work out that stuff.Always good to see more true scouts/rangers in training in this endless sea of Bounty Hunters :/
