Thread: NEW IDEA: Camp Cooking
- Foraged Items (Including some Medical Foraged)
- Milk
- Fish
- Meat
- Hide
- Bone
- Water
- Floral Food Resources
How the kit would operate:
The kit would be part of the camp and thus, would only be usable while actually in the camp. I think the kit should popup and actually look like a round pot. That would be nice. Then, we could drag and drop as many items we wanted into it and click one of the cooking options (such as: simmer, stew, boil, soup, brine, etc). Each option would take adifferent amount of time to complete and would wiegh the bonus out come more heavily toward a certain thing. We could add any amount of anything we wanted, up to 20 items (stacked resources count as mulitple items).
The Payouts:
Well, the bonuses given should depend on what foraged and harvested items have been added. The better the stats, the better the food will be. Somerare food may only be made a certain percentage of the time when all the proper items are used to make them. This would make for some saught after foraged items. Imagine that!!
Wilderness Survival XP:
Damn straight you should get XP for camp cooking!
Misc:
I think we should be able to add wood resources to the fire to make it bigger, warmer, and provide a higher bonus to wound healing.
But it's a good idea. I'll make sure it stays on the list for when the Devs get the CURB wrapped up.
B
- Stoke Fire
- Add Wood: Opens up a window to drag more wood to the fire
- Poke Fire: Makes nice cinders fly into the air and generates cracking, popping sounds
- Cook
- Soup
- Stew
- Simmer
- Fry
- Saute
- Barbecue
- Toast
- Roast
- Boil
- Gumbo
- Eat
- Reheat Meal
Pretty simple.
Example: Cook > Soup
A Window comes up and on the left side it tells you the amount of ingredients you'll need to add to the pot, on the right. For Soup, all you need put in is 8 Water, 4 Foraged items, and 8 misc items. So, you add the items to the right side of the window and then hit the 'Prepair Meal' button. The window disapears and a cooking aparatus apears over the camp fire. After an amount of time you hear a dinner timer go 'ding', at wich point you can click on the camp fire and choos #3, Eat. The 'output hopper' opens and you can remove the food.
I would also like to add that I think it is a great idea to give a 5% bonus to reheating Chef foods!
