The one-unit harvest is a known bug where the resource is shifting and takes a little bit of time to "gell". Try again in a few hours.

i dont know if this has been said yet as i did not read through all of the posts (im at work) but i think the problem with a rangers mask scent and why it fails alot is that I think its using the camoflauge skill points instead of the mask scent skill points. When a creature breaks my scent it says my camoflauge failed, shouldnt it say my mask scent failed? And I think Wayfairing should also up your mask scent skillmod as to make it better than a master scouts skill mod. As of now it does not get anybetter and mine broke by a dang gubber for goodness sake, come on now that should not happen!

On Endor last night another Master Ranger and myself were hunting. We camoflauged before we left the outpost. After about 300m, mine broke but his did not. I reapply. About 100m farther in, mine breaks again. I reapply. We attack our target, succeed, and move on to the next one. Guess what? It breaks again while his is still working. Why?

I used current resources from Endor including all with descent stats. I have found that using Maskscent is more effective for me than /conceal.

Secondly. Why is it that a medic or doctor can take resources, create medicine, and apply with 100% success and effectiveness. But a Master Ranger can take the same amount of resources, create a kit that applies camoflauge to another player, only to have it fail within 5 minutes of application EVERY time. Out of the 20 kits Ive applied to other players, not one has lasted until it wore off. The only difference being that Medics and Doctors get to choose from a variety of resources to create their medicine, but we as Rangers have a limited supply to choose from.

/conceal is truly screwed up

It should have a different icon number one...

It should fail but still stay applied...

Ok, the thug saw me...did he have a washcloth and clean off my camo too?

Too expensive vs the fail rate.

Masters arent different enough than novices regarding the effectiveness of ANY skill

ie. tracking radius isnt big enough, /conceal fail rate, and others

/conceal worked waaaay better for me then /maskscent. It did not have it break even once for the duration of the kit. I ran past every creature/NPC I could find and nothing spotted me. I was face-to-face inches from a nightsister slaver that was aggressive to me and neither he nor his two buddies noticed me. I was running in circles around them and through them for five minutes straight. Not sure why it is breaking for other people. Maybe the Dath kit just works better or maybe master rangers bonus to conceal actually does something.

It is more likely you were lucky. I am a master ranger and a kreetle saw through my Tatooine camo kit at 100m.

I agee with other users that Ranger experience (or rather scouting experience) is too fast. I get about 100k per day without even trying for it. I liked it better when maskscent worked well and gave no exp. Survival exp is still dumb as you get experience for sitting around and doing nothing. Now that you can camp right outside a city, it is really not survival experience, but backyard camping experience - watch out for those mean fireflies!

OK, here is a huge bug on the camo kits. If you are concealed on one planet and go to another, you are still concealed but with no icon telling you. First this is rare as camo kits generally won't last long enough to get here but whatever. Most of you will think that you are not concealed as maskscent goes away when you change planets so you'll assume conceal willgo away too. BUT IT'S STILL THERE! You can maskscent on that planet but the maskscent really doesn't work because you are already concealed. And the conceal doesn't work because you are on a different planet than thecamo kit is meant for. All that adds up to a lot of time in the cloning room until you put 2 and 2 together. You need to use /conceal to remove the conceal and /maskscent or /conceal to get the appopriate status on the new planet.

Other (minor?) bugs on camo kits:

  • When they wear off (yes people if you stay clear of kreetles long enough they will wear off) it tells you that your mask scent wore off.

  • Normally maskscent shows up on every member of your group if on, but you do not know if any member of your group is concealed, even if you're the one that concealed them.

  • The mouseover text from the conceal icon in your status window tells you that you're maskscented, not concealed.

  • Camo kits work on overall quality (OQ). When you experiment on them you get additional uses rather than better effectiveness. When making stims/wound packs, OQ modified effectiveness and decay resistance modifies uses. So either we should be able to experiment on effectiveness, or the kits should depend on the decay resistance of the resources, or both.

All I can think of for now.

the /conceal is not working off of the rangers skill, but on the person we are putting it on.For example, I put Tatooine camo on my self, being a master ranger, and I could walk into a full camp of tuskens and wave at then and did a couple of /dance in the middle of the camp. Spent almost 5 mins inside the camp and they didn't even notice me.

Once you get past a mob it will never see you so you can dance all you want. It only gets tested when a new mob gets in range. Go into fort tusken and see how quickly they notice you. Assuming you can get past those kreetles.

Noticed what I believe should be labeled a bug on conceal. It even breaks against friendly faction NPCs. When I went into an imperial player placed faction HQ it broke against the AT-STs there. And it doesn't seem to work against NPC rebels. I didn't even get any notification that it was broken... it just diseappeard and the standard "?" and "!" appeared above them before they attacked.

Yes! I have 5000 faction with Panshee ewoks and they constantly attack me now.

I thought I posted this, but I didnt find it, so here goes.

Since the update my mask scent actually doesn't work as well as it did. I have it broken way more often now, and by low level creatures. I'm on Tat, and I had a Kreetle break my MS this weekend. It was light blue to me. The only thing on my radar were the kreetles, and it was out ot 128m.

I have been grouped with some novice scouts, Im a master, and my MS will break on some stuff around us, I get agroed on, but their MS is still up. I know because I look at the group display and still see the state on them. This has happened more then once too. I'm maybe around level 11-12, according to missions I get, and I have dune lizards, feral bantha, normal dewbacks, and dragonets break my mask scent.

Now I know it's not going to work 100% of the time, and that's OK. But when the master scout in the group gets his MS broken and agroed on, when novice scouts dont, that is not right. The update message said that mask scent was supposed to be more effective and not break as often. Well mine break more often since this update. I do get xp for it now, but it's not more effective.

The other thing I have noticed, just like everyone else it seems, is my harvesting is dropped about 40% when soloing. Now, as others have said, if they did this on purpose to limit the resources available, thats annoying but OK. But they should have put it in the update message that they were doing this, so we know.

I belive /areatrack does not work for creatures/mobs/etc if they have a large change in the z axis. That is if they are much higher than you or below you. Example:

I was around the Sarlaac the other day for the first time (did you know you can harvest its bile?) There were a good number of spawned nests and packs of creatures around. I was looking for normal banthas to tame so and had heard they could be had around the Saraac. So I pull up areatrack. The list isnt even full and I see everything except a nest of Dragonets that I KNOW are just over the hill. Now I know they are there as I had just seen them a few minutes before and I knew they were within 500m of me(I have Tracking IV). I go back over the hill and yep they are still there. Now the only thing I could think of was that they were below me in the z axis so maybe thats why they didnt show up.

Anyway I think this is something that really needs to be fixed.

Just an update from my last post regarding maskscent and conceal:

I have thoroughly checked out conceal and maskscent on naboo and rori. On both, conceal and maskscent appear to be working exactly as described by the devs.

Maskscent worked against creatures approximately 90% of the time. It did break for some yellow con mobs as well as red con mobs. One out of three times maskscent broke I would be attacked, but only by red con mobs.

Conceal worked against both NPCs and creatures as described. I have -5000 faction with borvos thugs and could walk right up to them safely, and even get missions from the yellow con, if they offered them, on a successful conceal. This worked for both red con and yellow con NPCs. When conceal broke I was not instantly attacked. Again, it appears that one in 3 breaks (maybe related to distance?) I was attacked.

As it stands I am very happy with the results of maskscent and conceal. The issues of getting resources for conceal are still a major issue, especially for locations like Lok, in my opinion.

I ran into a huge bug with areatrack last night.

I'm pretty sure it can't track anything that has much difference in the vertical plane. I was on Dantooine following the foot of the mountains looking for Bile Drenched Quenkers. I used areatrack all through the night. Not once was it able to track anything that was outside my range of vision. I would pass nests then track them. I would still be able to see the nests on my radar so I knew the animals where there. Area track would not pick them up at all.

The same thing happened to me on Dantooine when I was looking for Rock beetles. I went into the hilly places outside Mos Eisley and it wouldn't work there either. The only time it does work are on large flat areas or gently rolling hills. Anything worse than that and it seems to just fail miserably.
